Have a go mate and just remember not to get too wound up about it. YOU CAN DO IT!! (ever see the Waterboy?)

Thanks coach :)

Things is - I have done all that except the damper bound and rebound and the LSD ... so I guess I'll go back and try playing around with that a bit then.

great time ozf1 and Silent Bob, i guess you guys win.. i was sick all day yesterday (the post above was my brother) so i didn't have any time to try a better time.. today well i might have the urge to play, maybe not..

we didn't stuff around with suspension, well i just changed the gears to auto 28, and brakes to 22/22. everything else was stock.. i guess if i kept playing and did some suspension setup i would get a better time.. but next time ;)

with gear ratios 28 i get around 335/6 at the front straight before the right hander

It closes 23:59:59 CET (Centerel Europien Time) Sunday. On the calendar page and on the post time page you can find a time indicater telling you what time it is now (CET).

Currently its 22:28 so 25½ hours to go :)

I will try to add a countdown also :)

I've just awarded me a cold bottle of beer because I just got myself in the 24's.
And not just barely:

1:24.417

0,8 secs improvement and 0,5 in the first corner after the chicane.
I might get a load more :rotfl:

1:23.236

Split times 1st 14.973, 2nd 43.192, 3rd 1:03.432

Thats about the best i can do. In theory i think i can go another 2/10ths faster because my best
ever 1st sector is 14.7 and best at the 2nd sector is 42.9 but i doubt i could bring it all together in one lap

I wouldnt have thought it was possible to do that time a couple of days ago, but then i discovered
that changing your own gears really is heaps quicker than Auto once you get the hang of it. Took my a while to adapt cause ive always driven in auto mode but i now owe a couple of people an apology cause they told me it was faster and i didnt believe them.

I think it should be a rule that the winner of every round has to open up their setup to the public...

Cheers,

i knew you were sandbagging!!

i've officially finished racing for this round. i got a 1.23.596 without hitting the wall. hitting the wall for me it saves 2 tenths, maybe im not hitting it properly :) anyway that time was with the suspension setup minus lsd and vcd (makes the car for me to have less understeer)

so congratulations to whoever beats Talk Is Cheap Racing during the night!

Yup, i'd never driven manual before because i felt i could control the steering and braking better with auto (less to do with my fingers). I think i've got the hang of it now though. I'm not sure if it will always be quicker but it certainly was this round.

As lucky said. Go to "change password" and enter your user in both fields and enter a new password for yourself.

The round ends at midnight CET, so you've got a few hours yet.

btw. Good to see that you've found some speed.

Thanks OZF1, next time I need it a little bit erlier.
One of my bigest problem besides my driving, is that I don't like to spend time trying
different setups, and I don't know which way to go, so if you can help me there I'd appreciated.

well I'm glad I had a quick check on the BB today before having another go. I tried some of you suggestions and it work well. I switched to auto 28 with longer 4th, 5th, and 6th gears and used manual gears and I found a second!! update - 1:23.785. I might have another go.
G, if you're still trying, try the auto 28 as it definitely helps straight away.

1:23.975 just squeezing between superbar and moanaman.

It's a tight fight for first place team between Roadkill Racing and Talk is Cheap Racing, we have a tenth of a second in hand so far: TT6 we meet again :D

I think that's all for me this round. And a well enjoyable round it was too.

I can't drive in auto at all any more, always manual. Assuming that Chrissy Boy hasn't been using auto as well  I'd assume that ozf1 switching to manual will make the fight for first place much tighter this season.

about auto/manual, i prefer manual, sometimes it auto shifts down too much and makes the car go out of control, like for the hairpin leading onto the back straight i like to slide it into 4th but if i did auto it would go 3rd and i'll spin out of control..

i am so proud of ourselves!! 2nd!!!

Great work, iconic!

By the way, I drove my fastest lap with my old full digital psx-pad. It's easier to stick pedal to the metal when the acceleraton button is not pressure sensitive.

yesterday I lost my connection to the Internet.. :(
I improved over a second: 1:23:701 but couldn't post it... It would be a great improvement for Roadkill Racing...
See you next Round

Since Gran Turismo, I've always used manual L1 shift down, R1 shift up , steering with left analog and breaking and throtle with right analog...

Manual lets you control better the way the car handles in turns, using it properly helps to counter understeer or oversteer. well that's my opinion... :)
