if you look at the end of that first post, there are a few links if the one provided in this thread isn't working. You should also browse throught that post to see what this is all about and how to install it... (not that it's any problem at all... worked as a charm on my computer

Very, very cool. I only drove different cars around Barcelona tracks (the one I have sorted the most in 'F1") and have to say than development team did a fntastic job. The setups available for donwload developed by the mod developers are a lot of help.
After I tried some very excellent cars, I am ready to admit that performance of F1 car, especially downforce and braking are just amazing...
all and all this mod is fantastic!

I've had a few problems adjusting to the new breaking lenght, as the F1 cars stops very fast indeed, so i usually end up in the gravle trap at turn1

I'm mostly at Brands Hatch at the moment in the 550. Best time so far is a 1:26:250

I've mostly been doing slow laps in different cars to get to find a favourite yet, so i don't think i have a killer time anywhere yet

I just checked my laps:
Barcelona: 1.42.489
Brands: 1.26.487
Both with the Lister
off for some more laps, perhaps in the Ferrari this time

Very true... Now we can understand what happened to Antonio Pizzonia few days ago when rolled road Jaguar in the very same corner...

Another thing, I noticed i'm allways runing into the "redzone" with the revs... the engines make a bit too much "grunt/bass" in their noise, so it's hard to tell that you should shift, so I end up going to the revlimiter in each gear :

There's an update to the physics here (engine heat related). http://www.simmods.c...=27&t=7509&st=0
Fixes:
996 GT3 Engine life problem
Various heat related issues with some cars
Engine life tweaked on all cars.
Added 100 RPM's to the rev limiter for all cars. This was done to help the engine life calculations
No performance changes to any cars (except for the 100 rpm's).
tried to make the default setup paramters more drivable for some cars. You still should be loading one of my supplied setups, however!
INFO:
Basic engine life is random from 1.75 - 4.0 hours. From there abusing the RPM limits and engine heat will reduce that. So If you are doing a 100% race, you really want to set the RPM limiter at minimum and make sure you keep your eye on the engine temperature in morning warm-up
INSTALL:
Unzip this file into the GTR2002SeasonVehicles folder with the "use folder names" option checked in winzip.
EDIT: GTR2002 World Ranking will not work with these new HDV's until Simon updates his telemetry, which should be real soon.
Enjoy!
--Doug

Kiwi, yes, it's worth buying F12002 for. But if you need to d/l 260Mb on 56k.... :

After the first initial tests here, i would say it is a very good GT sim, and i would stongly consider buying F1-2002 because of it. You also get a pretty good modern F1 sim when you buy it

The cars are though to drive on the limit (as they should be), so if you are an arcade racer, i would try to get a chance to testdrive it first. But if you are used to racing sims, like GPL and F1-200x series from EA, you should find it quite interesting. I'm enjoing it very much atleast. Even won a race at Hochenheim this eveing, at 100% ai strenght, 16 laps, 15cars I was first by 42sec to the next car

Uhmm.. i've should have checked that link before i did my offline race today... Never played f1-2002 online, but i'll have to try this mod online i guess.
Perhaps we should do a "atlasf1 race of champions" or something

It was hehe, don't improve too much though (0.2 sec on donington is allowed, but only that!!;) )

Like the idea, problem is most hosts can't serve more than 4 or 5 peeps lagfree, but i guess there are ways to work around that.

Worth buying twice i'd say hehe and no, you're not wasting you're time on dial-up (i hope it's at least 56k..), but you would have trouble hosting i guess. edit : (let me rephrase that with, you should be able to race online, don't hang me on it though ;) )
As for the 265 mb download: You can always ask someone to burn a copy and send it to you or download it somewhere where you have access to broadband and burn it.
RaceSimCentral is struggling with the idea to put up some "mod/addon cd-service", don't know the status on that one, but you can check the thread about it here

Has anyone here tried to download on 56K?
I know there is some trick software out there that splits up the file whilst downloading or an pick up from where it left off if you get disconnected?
Failing that, anyone willing to send a CD to NZ?

1:29:4x.
You guys using the default DA setup?
Also how goes the left front tyre temp? I push and it skyrockets like mad. It can go up to 127 degrees (which is way above optimal) even when driving fairly conservative.
#47
Posted 10 December 2002 - 01:36
Then look at your engine temp to see if you can have some more revs, or reduce radiater size.
Reduce the rearwing a bit and......erm... this is as far as i got till now. Did a 1.27.557 at Donington in the BMS Ferrari. WR is around 1.24.669 for now.
