Hi,
I’m looking for pictures of the Cooper 500cc cars that the Finnish driver Curt Lincoln drove in 1955 to 1957. Apparently Lincoln had two different cars during this period. In 1955-56 he had a Cooper T 36 Mark IX Norton. In 1957 he bought a brand new T 42 Mark XI, chassis No. 557, also fitted with a Manx Norton engine. This information I got from Seppo Pitkanen’s homepage: http://www.clarinet....ane/lincoln.htm
This homepage features a few pictures, but mostly of Lincoln’s later Mark XII car. I will of course contact Mr Pitkanen to hear if more pictures can be produced, but I also wanted to hear if anyone here has anything of interest in this matter.
Even other things like details around Lincoln’s races with these cars are of course of high interest to me.
The reason for my interest in these cars is that my father is the owner of what is believed to be Lincoln’s 1957, Mk XI car. But so far we have not been able to ascertain this or even see any pictures of this car from its heyday.
I've also heard that a few special lightweight chassis (of Mk IX-XII type) were built to drivers with special connection to the Cooper factory. Is this true? Anyone who knows any more details around this?
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Cheers,
Jonas
