Yup, the news is all over the place over here (Argentina)

So that makes them "at least 2".

Fathers day must be a confusing time over there.

Perhaps this new chapter can now be closed. I trust that closure and peace for those involved has been achieved.

You are right, and I should have made it clear that I wasn't including 'Cacho' among the vultures. But I believe that if he was that worried about being recognised as Fangio's son he would have got things sorted many years ago whilst the great man was alive. The reports say that he started this legal action only in 2013 - why did he leave it so long?

I have heard that there were consent issues.  He could not get DNA samples without the consent of people who refused to give it - so had to wait until they were no longer alive...

OK, fair enough. I accept that my 'vultures' comment was over the top. I still think it was a monstrous thing to do.

Am I the only one who, because of the results of the tests, finds it more difficult than before to retain high opinions about the man Juan Manuel Fangio?

None of all of this influences my opinions and thoughts about the driver and sportsman Juan Manuel Fangio. But I don't know wnat to think about the man outside the cockpit any longer. Also, let's admi that instantly, I don't know enough about his private live to begin with. But matters like this suggest things to me that I wouldn't be proud of.

Am I alone in this?

Again, from what I can gather, so probably imperfect and incomplete, this was not down to Fangio, who acknowledged Cacho as his son.  There was no need for DNA testing while JMF was alive.

I don't know the position re Vazquez though.  I don't even know how old he is.
