Does anyone know if Beppe Lucchini, from the 80s Scuderia Italia F1 team is the same Lucchini that is now building SR2 class sportscars?

I think they aren't the same person: Beppe Lucchini is a big steel factory owner, that was racing "Scuderia Italia BMS Dallara" in F1 some years ago.
The builder of the sport prototype cars, is another one Lucchini; they build and race this kind of cars in "national" specific (alfa v6 engine, LM3?) from many years, and achieved several national title, two or three with the grandson of Consalvo Sanesi at the wheel.

Giorgio Lucchini of Lucchini Engineering (ie the Sports car manufacturer) has NOTHING to do with Giuseppe Lucchini of Scuderia Italia. Definitely. I know both people. Wishes.

Thanks! I am aware of Lucchini's successes in the various Italian hillclimb and sportscar series. I didn't think there was any relation between Beppe Lucchini and this team, but wanted to check...

My Orsini Mille Miglia book isn't handy at the moment, but the car kind of looks like the Ferri-Cormons (sp?) that was a cross between Alfa 6c2500 and Lancia parts..

It looks similar, but It's not the same. My pic is too dark to detail the car, but at least the scuttle is very different, and so seem other details: rear fender has not the same shape, grille is not the same, headlamps higher on this one, different hubs for wire wheels...

I wouldn't bet, but unless it has been transformed between the two pics...

The car in the top photo looks to me to be a modified 6c1500, 1750 or 8c2300. From the scuttle forward, there are obvious modifications, including what appears to me to be a 6c2500 grille. The only car I could think of that looks remotely like this is the Ferri. I have never seen the top photo before...

I own a Lucchini S280 sn002 and have been trying unsuccessfully to reach someone at Lucchini-Engineering, hoping to find out about the car's history and any technical engineering drawings that may be available. If you personally know Giorgio Lucchini, would you be willing to contact him and/or provide him my contact information on this request?

Much thanks to all for the inputs to this thread.
Unfortunately all my attempts to reach Lucchini have failed. The CoC in Mantova (Mantua, home of Nuvolari) provided the last know addr for Luc Engr but no reply. I contacted Adriano Gozzi who was in another thread on Luc who successfully raced them but that turned out to be the wrong Gozzi also. The Luc steel industry is definitely the wrong Lucchini. The last fb I got was that Luc Engr had fallen into some legal/business problems and may have closed.

Continued feedback is very appreciated as I will followup on anything that looks promising.

Wicked car though. Lightweight bodywork, M12 motor. Good ride.
