As you know guys, I am a huge Fisi fan. Seeing this week's testing so far has been awful. In three days the Jordan team has only managed to do 17 laps with the new car. Really bad. I am starting to suspect there is some major flaw in the design. I am just waiting to hear Gary's excuses this day. I really hope that Jordan has secured their sponsors already because this impresses noone. And Fisi as always, stuck in the middle of a F1 nightmare.

Jordan will test only 10 days during season. They should be pouding the tracks right now, developing stuff, not standing in the garage. There is a certain lack of professionalism in these showings.

Don't worry dude, remember this is the first time for the -13. Computers can only predict so much.

They will get it right. :)

Better to find these problems now, rather than at the first race.

And Gary A. said that one of the reasons Jordan haven't tested since november is because they will use a known engine with good reliability. Well, that theory surely backfired.

That's what I thought about too! I'm baffled by their problems, especially as they are engine related...!?!
I really hope Jordan rack up a huge mileage in the remaining test-sessions pre Melbourne. the best would be if they could sign a 2nd driver soon, and test with two cars. But even if they do, they might have planned for Fisichella to carry out most of the testing anyway...?

could it be some commercial problem? I mean, that they haven't signed with their big sponsors or something and because of this they haven't run. Well, that would be a bit odd, but what I want to say really i that maybe the problem isn't with the car. It could be something else... Hopefully not. It does sound a bit far fetched anyway, but I do find it very strange they haven't been able to run

I'm wary to write them off quite yet, I've done that for about four seasons in a row and they still beat BAR

If the car is as good as it looks... :(

Is it an engine problem??

The fire in the engine compartment last week was caused by a fuel leak. That's not an engine problem.

If this keeps up, Fisichella may soon take the mantle of "driver that is always in the right place at the wrong time" from current champion Frentzen.

How can Fretzen have that mantle?

He was at Williams when JV won the WDC with same material. He was at Jordan in 1999 when their car was at best. Seems to me he has had some good chances in his career.

1-stayed at Sauber 94-95-96, when he could have gone to Williams on an upswing, instead went to Williams exactly when they started to decline.

2-I've lost count of how many races he lost in 1997 through no fault of his own, then he had to play second fiddle to JV in second half of season because of Villeneuves incompetence.

3- Williams 98- goodyear/mecachrome

4-Jordan, car-failures in canada and nurburgring kept him from second or first in WDC.

5-fired inexplicably by eddie the jackal jordan before his home gp

6-prost- bankrupt

7-arrows- bankrupt

is that enough?

I thought Alesi held that mantle?
He could have gone to Williams just as they were about to dominate the majority of the 90s decade.

Frentzen knew how good Williams were when he could have gone, and yet still refused due to loyalty for Peter Sauber - thats even worse than Alesi's move not that Alesi knew or anything.

Anyways, i think the right words should be that Fisichella will be the champion of the '1 of the best drivers never to win a race' right next to Chris Amon.
Alesi would have been there too if he hadnt won Canada 95.

The problems that the EJ13 are experiencing now are tied directly to there lack of winter testing. They really are in a crunch right now, with so little time left.

While all the other teams have been testing new components Jordon has been finilizing the new design to take advantage of the new powerplant. I fear that without a second driver in action they won't be possible to catch up till midseason, if at all.

How do expect them to work professionaly without the requiered budget to do so?

EJ has said they have big enough budget to do the job, so I take him on his words. And judge his team based on that.

I doubt EJ told Fisi before this season.."well Giancarlo, you know....we don't have a budget to build a car that runs consecutive, but hey...how about sticking around anyway?".

Do you think that EJ would admit he lacks $25mio openly in press when he's still searching for new sponsoring deals.
Would you invest $25mio in a current F1 team that's short on cash?

What does Jordan keep in these huge trucks, certantly no extra car or parts/engines....
But if you look at the times done yesterday I don´t think it´s too bad. I think they will do just fine in -03. Don´t worry Ghostrider. By the way, have you seen the crazy bike ride named Ghostrider?
If you havn´t make a search on Kazaa or something.

Speaking of crazy bike riders...Check out this guy that lives in my area with a turbo hayabusa. There is also a guy that lives in my neighborhood with a 490 whp turbo hayabusa (227 mph top speed and 7.7 @ 182mph 1/4 mile)...

I tried the links but couldn´t have them to work ):
It´s semms crazy with 490 hp in an Hayabusa. They can´t be easy.
I read an article about the Hayabusa engine. It´s kind of easy to find good horsepower, 400 was no problem and reliability was good too. But I wonder about drivability when you squize out more than 300-350...
He Erik Marklund or what his name is had an costomer kit for Hayabusa supposed to produce 444hp..
It´s good that it´s possible to have som much power from an turbocharged bike engine.
I´ve looked around a little for an Super seven kit with bike engine. Many have for Hayabusa installation. I wouldn´t mind having 400hp in an light <500kg car but hardly in an motorcycle...
Were do you live BTW?

I think i read somewhere, probably here on RC that Cosworth would only deliver one engine before Jordan had confirmed there sponsorshippackage. So maybe they are in deep ****!!!, it can not be fun to test with only one engine.

Getting back to the topic of Jordan's troubles: correct me if I am wrong but I believe Cosworth is changing to a wider 90 degree engine this year. It seems to me that every engine manufacturer that went to a wider engine had engine reliability problems initiailly. Renault, Honda (last year), Mercedes (also last year) etc. The only exception has been Ferrari - but then I am not sure sure what angle their engine design is. So my suspicion is it has something to do with this, but then again I don't know for sure and this is just a crappy theory :drunk:
