This is what you do:
Post a reply here with your bet on how the WDC final standings of this year will look; there are 624 (16*39) points to be distributed. I've listed the final WDC points standings of the last three years below in order to give you a cleu about how things look with the new points system (please note that there were 17 races the last three years; one more than this year) :
Driver 2002 2001 2000 2003 team M Schumacher 156 135 116 Ferrari Barrichello 93 82 86 Ferrari Montoya 74 40 - Williams Coulthard 63 87 95 McLaren R Schumacher 63 63 42 Williams Räikkönen 36 24 - McLaren Button 31 8 25 BAR Heidfeld 22 28 1 Sauber Fisichella 20 15 30 Jordan Trulli 19 24 16 Renault Irvine 16 14 14 - Massa 15 - - - Villeneuve 14 25 36 BAR Salo 10 - 20 - Panis 8 16 - Toyota Frentzen 6 15 23 Sauber Sato 5 - - - Webber 5 - - Jaguar McNish 3 - - - de la Rosa 2 8 7 - Yoong 2 0 - - Häkkinen - 51 109 - Alesi - 17 0 - Verstappen - 6 11 Minardi Burti - 2 0 - Zonta - 2 11 - Bernoldi 0 1 - - Wurz - - 8 - Diniz - - 5 - Herbert - - 5 - Gene - - 2 - Mazzacane - 0 1 - Alonso - 0 - Renault Da Matta - - - Toyota Firman - - - Jordan Pizzonia - - - Jaguar Wilson - - - MinardiData courtesy of atlasf1.com
This is how points are scored:
For each point over 624 that you distribute, you'll be penalized one point. You gain one point in the competition for each F1-championship point that you've placed right, which means:
-If a driver has a higher final WDC score than the amount of points you've placed on him, you'll get as many points from this driver as you've placed on him.
-If the driver scores less than you've trusted him to do, you'll only get as many points as he has managed to score.
An example: if players A and B have placed 30 and 40 points respectively on Button and Button scores 36 points in the WDC, the players will score 30 and 36 points respectively for Button.
The competition is open for entries until first free practice starts at Melbourne.
This is my prediction:
M Schumacher 136 points
Barrichello 84
Montoya 66
Coulthard 64
Räikkönen 62
R Schumacher 56
Trulli 27
Frentzen 22
Alonso 16
Panis 16
Fisichella 15
Heidfeld 14
Villeneuve 14
Webber 10
Button 8
Firman 4
Pizzonia 4
Verstappen 3
Da Matta 2
Wilson 1
If you think some driver will come in as a replacement during the season, feel free to place points at that driver too. Do note that points are assigned to specific drivers, not "the second Jordan seat" or anything like that.
Good luck!
