The "How long will it take to lap Jos" Competition: Australia
#1
Posted 12 February 2003 - 16:23
1) Guess how many laps Minirdi's Jos Verstappen will complete (as in he has to pass the start/finish line) before he is overtaken for the first time by the leader of the race. If, for example, he doesn't qualify or he blows up on the grid, that counts as 0 laps. If he is passed on lap 15, that means he has completed 14 laps.
2) The winner for a race will be the person who's score, or the difference between their guess and the actual number of laps, is closest to 0.
3) The race scores will be compiled after every event towards the championship tally. The top finishers for a race will be posted along with the full championship standings following each race.
4) If you miss a race (forget to add a guess), your total for that week will be the total number of laps in the race.
5) If Jos misses a race due to injury or incarceration as a result of beating up fans, his replacement will be used in the competition.
6) Your guess must be posted in the appropriate thread by 12:00 AM (Atlas time) on the night before the first qualifying session (Thursday night by midnight). I will always post the deadline, so if you miss it, tough sh!t. No exceptions here.
7) This is a competition for lazy bastards who don't want to think too much, so any complaints you have about any results, etc, will likely be completely ignored.
Have at it! Your first guess is due by Midnight Atlas time on Thursday, March 6.

Well, our old friend Alex did 22 laps last year, so JtB should be able to squeek out 23, what with less fuel and all...
23 laps, please sir...

You are truly evil!

The mere fact that Jos weaseled his way into a cockpit is too much for words,
I hope this clown fails to qualify at every race and he gets kicked aside.
Dare to dream...

before he steers into the gravel
Yes it is tragic, I must confess
but 7 is the number, no more, no less

Toyoter, could you extend the competition with a second question: Will Jos be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc driver lapped? (More opportunities to score points)

You can't be serious! Alex was funny, but I don't think there's been anything funnier in the history of F1 than the life and times of Jos Verstappen! He looks like Oscar the Grouch from Seasame Street, he beats up fans, he talks sh!t about his teammates when they are consistently outqualifying him, and he has made some of the most ridiculous on-track boffs anyone has ever seen! Love him or hate him, you have to admit that Jos is one funny b@stard

Yeah, I remember, but those pesky details just complicate things for my feeble brain. 'Sides, maybe the same thing will happen this year?!?!?!;)Originally posted by wawawa

back again....
The HLWITTLY champ is back to defend his crown,
and hopefully, Anthony Davidson wont try to ruin it for me this season

Once again, we are poised with what will be a close competition.
To start my title defence, i will go on a limb and say that lap number Jos will be lapped on is the same number that will be on his nosecone.
