I ALWAYS go..i have been 6 years straight. It is an amazing event.. the modifications are awesome. In one weekend you get to see:

1) A "show and shine" with 300 odd cars
2) The "top 80" show displaying the best 80 modified cars in the country... absolutley amazing quality.. often $100,000 worth of mods/restoration.
3) A "dyno" competition reading HP figures.. amazing sound in a tin shed!!!
4) A thoroughly insane burnout competition where the tyres MUST be popped!!!!

Add to that the motorart, audio comps, tech stalls and sponsor stalls, a range of motor related goodies like books, clothes + specialist tech parts, the odd balls that make summernats special... just idiotsa but funny.. and the strip show if you're so inclined ( i went when i was 17 but that was it).

A great event. See my site for pics... but they are not all that flash.

HUH???! You ARE an Aussie male aren't you?? You are under the age of 30?? How could you NOT be interested in at least one aspect of the SUMMERNATS?

A lot of people consider it to just be a bunch of "hoons and yobbos" but the top 80 show (or Top Elite Judged) cars are trully works of art. The amount of detail and thought that goes into these vehicles is just mind-blowing. At the recent State Titles Shane Burcher's Grand Champion ute was on display, and let me tell you, I was astounded at the work that has gone into it!!

That's starting to become a recurrent theme here in NYC. If you have a WOW sticker or sign on your car here in NYC, chances are great that you will see boobs. It happened to me twice already.
