Score for the Popularity Poll: 39 points

The only one missing points in the first round was garth_b, who didn't place a single point on Alonso!

The Popularity Poll consists of the average points placed on each driver, rounded off to integer values and to make the points sum 624. It is as follows:

Driver PP Points range

M Schumacher 120 points 92-144

Barrichello 81 55-105

Montoya 69 44-102

Coulthard 66 45-94

Räikkönen 64 34-104

R Schumacher 56 36-81

Trulli 24 6-43

Alonso 20 0-40

Frentzen 17 4-32

Heidfeld 17 7-30

Villeneuve	17 6-53

Panis 16 5-30

Fisichella	15 0-37

Button 12 0-28

Webber 9 0-24

da Matta 7 0-18

Pizzonia 6 0-14

Firman 4 0-11

Verstappen 3 0-10

Wilson 1 0-6

If the Popularity poll would turn out exactly right, the winner of the PTPC would be Moanaman, with a totally amazing 616 points!

Teammate duels
Which driver in a team is trusted to be top points scorer by the participants? Here's a list!

	 <--   =	-->

MSch 41 0	0 Barr

Mont 34 2	5 RSch

Coul 23 1 17 Räik

Trul 30 1 10 Alon

Fren 22 6 13 Heid

Fisi 40 1	0 Firm

Webb 29 5	7 Pizz

Vill 31 2	8 Butt

Vers 33 6	2 Wils

Pani 38 2	1 daMa

Drivers' listings

This season I will continually post three measures of how well the drivers are doing compared to the participants' expectations:

-The expectations fulfillment list: how many % the driver has scored of the average expected final result for him, defined by the average contribution above (or rather the non-rounded off values). For example, if Michael Schumacher scores 120 points this year, he will have fulfilled our expectations 100 %, but not more.

Current standings:

Frentzen 17.8 %

Trulli 16.9 %

Coulthard 15.2 %

Montoya 11.6 %

Alonso 10.1 %

Räikkönen 9.4 %

M Schumacher 4.2 %

R Schumacher 1.8 %

-The surprising drivers list: A 100 % surprise is defined by scoring one more point than anyone expected. This list shows how close to that score a driver is. For example, the highest amount of points placed on Montoya this year was 102. If JPM scores 103 points, he will have achieved a 100 % surprise. After this first race, his surprise value is 7.8 %.

Current standings:

Coulthard	10.5 %

Trulli 9.1 %

Frentzen 9.1 %

Montoya 7.8 %

Räikkönen 5.7 %

Alonso 4.9 %

M Schumacher 3.4 %

R Schumacher 1.2 %

-How many participants each driver has surprised so far: A participant is defined as being surprised by a driver as soon as the driver has scored more points than the participant expected. The maximum possible score for a driver is naturally the amount of participants in the competition, this year 41.

Current standings:
Alonso 1
All other drivers 0

The PTPC forecast

Yes, realised that after I posted but decided: what the hell

Couldn't, for the life of me, work out who I had missed out until I had posted my guess. Alonso doesn't seem to figure very high on my radar. Although I picked him in 8th place for GTR. Go figure! :)

Sammyed, your version would have made the list so short that it wouldn't look any funny with garth in last place! :p

This is of course a slightly useless indication so far on how things will turn out in the end, but it seems like garth might miss out on quite a few points from Alonso as time goes by.
