In the past few seasons (at least), one of the things that made the Interlagos circuit stand out was that the curbs ("kerbs" for the Brits) on the track were painted green and yellow (2002 photo). Seeing as how those are among Brazil's national colors I figured that was why.

This year they were blue and white. Does anyone know why they changed?

Noticed, but dont know why they changed, the national colours were a lot nicer but I think in some places they have been kept.

As the Iraqi minister of information would say: what are you talking about they are green and yellow. what you see is an illusion.

perhaps they were changed because the blue and white matches the colors of the event sponsor, Club Social.

Werent they another color even before green/yellow? I thought hte green/yellow had something to do with all the Petrobras sponsorship one year.

they had been white and yellow since 1990, than changed to green and yellow in 1999, now to white and blue to match not only Club Social but also Intel.

That makes a lot of sense, actually. I had noticed that the painted-on-the-grass sponsorship seemed to be primarily for Intel (blue/white) this year rather than Petrobras (green/yellow), but didn't make the connection.

Thanks.

What is Club Social anyway? Seems a strange name for a Grand Prix event sponsor. Doesn't sound like big business.

It's a Brazilian brand of saltines that's owned by Kraft.
