Whitney Straight (Maserati 8CM) won the racing car class in 14m31.6s and Mario Tadini (Alfa Romeo Monza 2,6) won the sports car class in 15m45.2s at Mont Ventoux on August 3, 1933.

This was a championship run for the 1933 European Mountain Championship and I am looking for the first four or five places in the racing car class and if possible also in the sports car class. :D

What about the Maurice Louche books "Mont Ventoux, 75 ans de Sports mécaniques 1902 - 1976" ? Did someone of TNF have this one ? I would be curious to compare with my data.

Marc - thanks a lot. Your information confirms that none of the serious contenders for the 1933 European Mountain Championship went to France with the exception of Mario Tadini, who consequently became the 1933 European Mountain Champion for sports cars.

I've got the Louche book (but I think someone else has as well)
The results are the same as yours, Marc, except that Leurquin is listed as the only competitor in the 1100 racing class - the others were all 750s. Also, Ferreol's time is given as 19m 53.6s (well 19m 53 and 3/5s to be precise).
Louche also gives times for the slower guys.

Thanks David.
It's more logical, indeed, that the Rosengart and Mathis were classified in a 750 cc class, as in the other French hillclimb races of the year: Bd Michelet, Argenteuil, Chanteloup, Château-Thierry, Torigni, Fontainebleau, Les Alpilles, ...

My sources gave also the time in 1/5 s.

What about the no-starters and the no-finishers ?

Non-starters aren't listed, but the text mentions that Divo broke down in practice, Ralph crashed his T37 after the first corner and Moll also crashed; whether these last two were in practice or on official runs is not clear
