 i was wondering if anybody was keen to get a championship started up again 4the good old f197 on playstation 1.?

i'm deadset keen, a couple of years back we had a fantastic wee comp going, we must've had 10 or more drivers competing, we can make it happen again, START YOUR ENGINES PEOPLE!

F1-97, the game that NEVER dies.

I would if I still had the game... But I don't, it went missing last year.
Too bad, since I stopped cheating and all. :smoking:

for the greatest f1 game that has been made thus far.

PLEASE NOTE -- it's a championship for the HONEST....we will be posting times every
two weeks before what ever grand prix is being held, so people like that guy 'G-R'
and those other guys that where insistent on cutting the chicanes at monza, hockenheim
--they won't be allowed in the comp.

anybody keen ?

Would the PC version pull out identical laps to the PSX version?

If so, I'll just get a hold of that and a PSX controller adapter for the machine.

ok - ive taken note of your Imola time. I'll hook it up and play it this weekend and let you know how I go. For some reason when i bought it in late 97 - Imola was my favourite track. Bt im sure im crap at it now.

Stay tuned.

i had a quick bash around imola today using schu's ferrari in the rain

i only did 1 effective lap, and pulled out a 1:37.735

not too bad considering i don't really race in the rain all that much :)

im really keen to get some sort of competition started up again, somewhat similar to the one used way back in 2000, but it kinda helps to get a couple of more competitors in...

(hey tom, did u get my message?)

After about a bit of lapping in the pouring rain, I got a 1.33.360 with Schumacher's Ferrari.

Key to being quick is not letting the thing slide all over the place, which is difficult, because that's all the car wants to do.

Holy shiznit. Haven't posted at atlas for ages. Uni and stuff.

Still going on about the cheating stuff? Well, whatever, I thought you and me sorted that stuff out, tom.

Anyway, I just had a quick look over some of the thread in 'that' season. What a bunch of crap. Totally stupid, I don't know why I wasted so much time posting. I do find some of if quite funny though. Man, I was a bit of a prick back then, I had no idea I was that arrogant and ****. But I've grown, yes folks I have. That's what age does to you I suppose.

Yeah, and I never cheated either

bring on some times g-r !!

doohan, how much suspension did you have, suspensions the key in the wet i reckon, and like you say, not letting it slide too much.
i've been a bit busy the last month or so, but i'll have more time now, how about we all do some times around montreal, without cutting that last chicane like monty.

Funnily enough, i whipped that CD out and played the Australian GP with Alesi. Only 5 laps when u just start a quick race, but it was too easy as i think its set on Amateur by default and unrealistic.

BTW, Liverpool Studios (formerly known as Psygnosis) are making Formula 1 '04 for the PS2 and its gonna be Online!

I pretty much leave the suspension as I find it when I start up the PSX - e.g. the default settings. That's one part of the set up that I pretty much always leave as it is.

Can we get some more specifics about what we are running? Level, conditions, circuit, etc.

doohanOK.

good to see you've hung on to your copy of f197 benz, not many others out there though.--sellouts.
i did a few laps in the tyrell- 1:10.305 was all i could come up with. but there was plenty to improve. never got a perfect lap, but i'll get down to the 1:09's i think.
i'd definitely be keen to get stuck into championship, like we did years ago, we must've had about 10 contenders back then?
i dunno how we're gonna get them back into it though. any ideas?

do any of you fellows know of the secert cheat in F1 97???

i read about it in the bizzare creation's page about F1 97 that there is an unusual cheat that doesn't involve typing in a name, or anything

any ideas?

No idea, Benz.

Salo at Hungary: 1:09.376

And it reminded me why I don't play F197 so much - my hands were incredibly sore after a few laps. But it's still a great game.

doohanOK.

i had 100% downforce on the front and 75% on the rear theres a couple of corners where it gains quite a bit if you take 'em flat.
