Thinking of buying a PS2 here in the UK and wondering where the cheapest place is I can get one. I want one for GT4.

A friend of mine just got one through Loot online (I think it's loot.co.uk), so it's second hand but works fine and he only paid GBP 99 including 3 racing games! Worth trying perhaps, there's only a small subscription/registration charge to search for the latest ads on Loot online (around GBP 5 for a week) but my friend found a good one within a couple of hours.......

I wonder if the PS2 will drop in price soon. Xbox has just dropped to 129.99 and the PS2 is still around 160.00.

Sony have said no, they don't need to (it's still selling far more than the XBox regardless of the price difference). That said, E3 is next week . . .

The fact that you are thinking of getting a PS2 instead of the Xbox, even with the price difference, confirms Sonys point. Assuming, of course, that most other new buyers are thinking similarly.

However, of course it will continue dropping overtime. If you are primarily getting it for GT4 then obviously waiting till the game is out covers all the bets.

Me, I was one of the suckers that pre-bought one for a ridiculous amount of $$$.
