Does anybody have further information about the Cooper T77-ATS F1-car of 1966/67?
According to my sources it was supposed to be driven by Businello at Syracuse in 1966, then got in the hands of Bonnier at the French GP and was driven in 1967 in two races by Moser? Who build that engine? Any pictures? Why did the car changed hands?

Hi

I only have found two pics: Moser at 1967 British GP. I think that Bonnier ran allways with a Cooper T81.
I have a problem: i don't know how to post pics here !!!
You can send a private message, and i'll send the pics.

Regards,
Rafa

you can find a picture of the car in Doug Nye book Cooper Cars p.297 (first edition)

The car was T77 F1-1-65. Conceived by Alf Francis it was fitted with a V8 ATS engine with increased capacity from 2.5 to 3 litres. It was the property of a swiss named Baumann.
First apparition at Reims in 1966 during the practise sessions of the ACF GP; it was driven by Joachim Bonnier whose Cooper-Maserati was still not repaired after the Belgian GP. Bonnier found the car unraceworthy and continued practise with a Brabham Climax.
Second apparition: 1967 British GP with Silvio Moser at the wheel who started the race but retired with engine probs.

The modify of the 1.5l Cooper to 3l with the ATS engine was an idea from Alf Francis and the Swiss Fritz Baumann. The engine was first used in a Lotus 30 (possible also 23) chassis and used by Baumann in Swiss championship. I can’t tell anything about the us by Bonnier, I think its possible for the contact from Bonnier in Swiss races. The first use was Siracusa 1966 with Bussinello, the rest of the year by Baumann in Switzerland. Charles Voegele sponsored the Siracusa 1967 entry with Silvio Moser as test for the Owen us in circuit races in the Swiss championship on side of the Brabham Climax 2.5l for hill climb races.
Moser have retired in the Siracusa race declaring the engine is for going, during the week at Modena in Alf Francis (Serenissima) Workshop Baumann’s worker clean the car and tell the engine is ok. On the weekend after Siracusa was a Swiss race ad Monza and Voegele start the practice with the Cooper ATS, after 3 or 4 laps the engine blows. After this was the entry at Silverstone and two hill climb races with Moser, Voegele lost the interest for this car.
The car was sold from Baumann to Gildo Guidi a Swiss driver, hi us the car with different luck on the Swiss championship and some hill races in Austrian, on off this races (Gargellen) the car was badly damaged. The engine was an other time fitted in a Lotus 30 chassis and after a short time sold to a French driver. Stefan Urban retired the damaged Cooper chassis. From both I cant tell more.
Have a look at:

Thanks so far for the infos!

Did Businello really drove at Siracusa in 1966? I read that he was enterd for the race but never arrived at the race track?
Does anybody have a race report of that race and also about the dead heat-race (Parkes & Scarfiotti) there in 1967?

According to the report in Motor Sport, Businello didn't turn up at Siracusa.

The Motor Sport report of the 1967 British GP says that Moser's car "comprises the front half of the Cooper built to take the abortive 16-cylinder Climax engine and a Francis rear-end". I assume this is a mistake as the car built for the 16-cylinder Climax became the Maserati-engined prototype, the T80, raced by Siffert at the 1966 International Trophy
