The start line picture would certainly help determine exactly where the start was, Terry...

And do you see wattle trees in the crash pic?

This the image of AV Turner on the start line at Harbord Rd in his Type 30 Bugatti #4087 on 15 May 1926.

It came to me from Pedr Davis.

And this is Turner in the same car before its further modification, at Maroubra probably in late 1925. He is advertising a feature film entitled "The Lucky Devil" which opened in Sydney on 15 February 1926 and (maybe) The Lucky Devil Cup, a trophy for which he never competed .

This photo is from Kent Patrick.

A great addition to the thread, Neil...

It's easy to see why Turner was thrown out of the car, also his assumption that he'd be back to his tennis is apparent in his attire.

Is there a chance we can see your two photos, Terry?

AV Turner and Ossie O’Connor, Itala Tipo ?, about to set off from Sydney GPO to Melbourne in 1924. Perhaps an article of interest. (A Wootton Family Collection)
