You know Boris? Father Bob competed in a single GP, factory BMW driver, NASCAR one off racer. Well it turns out that he has been suspened from Trans Am, the series he was champ in last year because (taken from a sports car thread):

multiple negative comments made in public, including those made to a high-ranking race circuit official, that the Series was “out to get him and ruin his career;” and additional comments made by Said to credentialed media on at least three occasions that continued his attack and referred to the Series as "the Gestapo" and compared Paul Gentilozzi and his sons to Saddam Hussein and his sons.

We thought Eddie Irvine was bad. This was way out of line and the guy deserves the punishement he gets. This is the same man who destroyed a Panoz during his one test and then wondered why they didn't give him a full time seat. Because of that, he went out and blasted the ALMS calling it "European Le Mans brought to you by America". Then he blasted the ACO because he old in-line six BMW, a three year old car, couldn't keep up with the Porsches. On its best day, the in-line six lacked power.

This guy has his mouth in gear and brain in neutral.

Sounds like a case of a self-fullfilling prophecy. Some people just have a penchant for talking themselves into trouble and then throwing up their arms and cry, "Why me?" Just another instance demonstrating what a volitile mix celebrity and paranoia is.

Have you guys been following the Trans-Am series this year? Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. He might not even be paranoid. Paul Gentilozzi has penalized Boris Said in the name of spicing up the show. It just doesn't seem to be a coincidence that the beneficiaries of the penalties are Gentilozzzi's drivers...

Too bad! I'm headed to the Mosport, Canada Trans-Am this weekend and will miss him competeing there. He made some disparaging comments about Trans-AM during a NASCAR interview saying how easy it was to win there, so I was looking forward to see him eating some dust. No chance of that now.

Perhaps he though those comments would curry favour with all us "Canuckistans". ;) It was a bad Idea for Gentilozzzi to take over the series and continue to compete as it leaves him open to acusations of bias.

I thought Gentilozzi had retired... that is a bit dumb to compete in the racing series that you yourself own  but then calling the series chief Saddam Hussein's something of a low blow :o

I wonder what the response would be if JV made similar comments.Would we laud him for his candor and his reluctance to fit in the ''automaton'' mold of current driver's?

Of course. The people who praise JV would praise JV for clogging their toilet. There certainly hasn't been a good reason to praise JV in half a decade.

Of course, JC France is driving and leading in the Grand Am series which is the Brain Fart (er, Brain Child) of Bill France.

I might be willing to give Boris some slack if he didn't go so over the top with his remarks. He's a moron.

Boris is an amazing talent, too bad he's a dumbass. I love watching him race and he's one of my faves, not many better sportscar racers out there really. Oh well, maybe he will learn a lesson, but then again, maybe there are things going on with Paul G. that we don't know about. Overall a bad move for another Trans-Am championship.
