Is it in Zell am See, Gmünd or in Stuttgart??

p34,

"My father's funeral took place on 4 February 1951 in Stuttgart; it was attended by Dr Nordhoff, the Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, Dr Klett, and the Minister of Transport, Dr Seebohm, representing the Federal Government, as well as many friends and business associates from all over the world. From Stuttgart, a large convoy of vehicles wound its way to Zell am See, where on 5 February father was laid to rest in the chapel on the estate."
(Extracted from the book "Ferry Porsche / Cars are my life", by Professor Dr. Ing. h. c. Ferry Porsche with Günther Molter and published by Patrick Stephens Limited").

Carles.

As employee? Or as shareholder, which seems impossible, than our are a member of the family, and they know, where you could find the grave

I know Porsche Austria and there for Salzburg very well from my time in the Audi PR dept. As you can imagine, Audi and Porsche Austria had a good contact. I visited Salzburg two times for some PR-projects and also Wien because of Ferdinand Porsche archive investigations.

An to answer your question, Porsche died in Stuttgart, but his grave is in Gmünd.

tyrellp34, sure his grave is in Zell am See, in Gmünd was the austrian HQ. You are completly right.

And I know Piëchs nicname: “Burli”, as my austrian grandmother called me too (sometimes).

Thank you very much!

So, in Wolfsburg they called him also "Fugen Ferry" because he gave order to the ingenieurs to remove the "Fugen" from 3 years old cars to tell them what was wrong into the construction

Oh "Fugen Ferry" belongs to his time by Audi. When the Audi 100 (C4) developed, he took this nicname "Fugen Ferry" with him to Wolfsburg.

"Burli" was the the nicname given to Ferdinand by Prof. Porsche.

I was there last Friday and want now to tell all the peoples which want to go there how to do.

The Porsche family grave is at Zell am See approximately 100 KM in the south from Salzburg, Austria. It is NOT located on the local cemetery but on the Porsche own ground called the “Stuettgut” or “Schüttgut”, which is near to Schüttdorf close to the small Airport some 100 meters behind the “Porsche Zell am See” Volkswagen dealer.

I can recommend to go there but please note that it is a private ground and so tell the cook or other that you want to see that place, before walking around there. There are also members of the Porsche clan which are living there.

Do the pet names 'Fugen' and 'Burli' have close English translations????

'Ciccio' for Alberto Ascari apparently translates most descriptively/affectionately into 'Tubby' and such things are always not only interesting - but also illuminating....

Burly is the Austrian version of small boy
