Ok, after we voted about Michael's best ever overtaking it's time we vote for his best race so far. The choices are more this time.

Following a brief summary for those who don't remember some of the races to vote:

SPA 1992: Michael is said to be the best ever driver in mixed conditions. This race is an example that proves these "sayings".

Monaco 1993: Xmm, well he retired there. Still it was his 2nd visit at Monaco, qualified ahead of Monaco pole master Senna, and would win the race if he wouldn't retire because of mechanical problems.

Estoril 1993: He won the unbeatable Williams by keeping the same tyres for 50 laps!

Brazil 1994: Senna on his attempt to stay close to Schumacher made a mistake and stalled his engine. Schumacher finished 1 lap in front of all his rivals including Damon Hill!

Spain 1994: Michael Schumacher managed to keep 2nd position by having only 5th gear available and finishing only 24 sec. behind Hill!

Nurburgring 1995: Great battles, great overtakings and perhaps Michael's best ever win.

Spa 1995: Started from 16th on the grid, and finished 1st.... not much to comment about this!

Spain 1996: 1st win with Ferrari under heavy rain. Finished 1st being more than 4 sec. per lap faster from the unbeatable Williams, lost 2 of the cylinders still he would only increase his gap. My best one.

Monaco 1997: Once again Michael was on his own lapping more than 4 seconds per lap faster than anyone else. At that race Coulthard admitted for the 1st time in public that Schumacher is the best driver.

Spa 1997: Started the race with intermediates. Passed both Alesi and Villeneuve, by lapping once again with 3 to 4 sec. a lap faster from the Williams.

Hungary 1998: Ferrari decides to change strategy, Ross tells to Michael that if he wants to win, he must make a gap of 20 seconds in 20 laps... and Michael said ok. That was it, job done :)

Suzuka 2000: No comment on this one :)

One thing of interrest is how there is no race included from 2001 or 2002. I can't name specific races from the top of my head, but I am sure there were some god candidates in there as well.

You forgot to add that he had an "INFERIOR" car even before having only 5:th gear...
:rotfl:

Easy this one, Suzuka 2000.

Although many of the wins listed here are indeed memorable, Barcelona '94 is one that always makes my shake my head in amazement. Finishing that race in 2nd place while stuck in 5th gear is remarkable enough, but if you then look at his laptimes subsequent to his gearbox malfunction you will also find that he managed to turn laps almost as fast as he had before. That's quite an achievement - gets my vote.

Ah, the 12 votes limit, heh. :)

Well, I would rank 2002 Imola amongst his best. For most people, especially Ferrari / Schumacher deflectors, it certainly doesn't rank high in 'spectacle', 'excitement' and 'wheel banging craze'. But it is a perfect display of Schumacher in his best form, not putting a single toenail wrong in the entire weekend, and giving new meaning to the word 'domination'.

Japan '00 of the ones listed. He and Mika in both the race and qualifying were on another planet. Too bad we won't see anymore overall weekends like that.

I also thought Monza '00 was a great race in context. He proved he didn't buckle under pressure, and that race stemmed the tide that had momentum seemingly shifting back to McLaren.

Mal. '01
Australia '02
Brazil '02
Imola '03
Canada '03

Those five were pretty damn good IMO.
Canada '03 is an updated Jarama of the late and famous Gilles.

Jerez 97:
The ultimate Schumacher "the great" demonstration. Just a little bit a better race then adelaide 94 cause he not only embarresed himself and the F1 sport as a whole but also lost the champignonship in greats sportsman style!!!
What a guy!

Barcelona 96, the man was unbelievable in the rain; Suzuka 2000 runs it close as does Barcelona 94. A few good races this year as well ( Canada, Austria). Amazing how many spectacular races that Michael has pulled off usually against the odds

I agree.
I think it was Jerez 97. :p
He kind of came out of the closet and gave the audience a glimpse into his dark inside.

Normally I would have said Spain '96 or Monaco '97, because those were races where he was so incredibly dominant it was ridiculous. But then I decided to vote for Suzuka 2000, because it was a "battle of the titans" kind of race and it was nerve-wrecking until the final lap. Mika and Michael, both WORLDS ahead of their teammates (just LOOK AT THE GAP to them at the end of the race! David, in third place, was 1:09 minutes behind them!) and neither of them driving at less than 110% for the whole of the race. An incredible "there can be only one" race with the winner taking the championship. Wow.

That entire weekend must surely be one of the greatest sporting battles of recent times,if not all time.

I disagree with you on that one - In my opinion Belgium 2002 was the one race that showed the gap that existed between the various cars and drivers and MS-Ferrari combination. Even Rubinho in the sister car couldnt touch Schumi. Schumi didnt put a foot wrong, scampered away in the race and then won by a country mile. I think in races like that Schumi should be made to have a cuppa during the pitstops ;)

There are many, perhaps his first for Ferrari was one of the best, Spain 96, and then the journey to finally get the title and win it like Suzuka 2000 was special, Hakkinen on form, Schumacher on form and showing he wanted that title so badly, it was almost too fairytale like the way he got the title, it was a great way to win it.

And of course you are 100% correct in naming the 2002 Spa race.

Allow me to join it 'among his best races' somewhere next to Imola. :)

Je just has too many of them.;)

I voted for Suzuka 2000.

If I could add something to that list I would add Sepang 1999... The job perfectly done. Even the briefieng he got was not usual for him...
