This may sound odd, but I stumbled on your page. I wonder if you could answer a question for me? Was Jochim Rindt married only once? Do you know his wife's name? Also do you know if he had children and if so what sex? The reason is that I am aware of someone who is purporting to be his widow, which I think is very questionable.

Of course his wife's name was Nina and he one daughter. As far as I remember he was married only once. But what actually aroused my interest was I thought I remembered a story of a women who claimed to be a widow of a famous driver. Could this be one and the same or am I off it?

Dennis: I'd guess the best person to answer Lisa's question would be Erich Walitsch, who runs the official Jochen Rindt site. He seems to be in contact with Nina:

The great love of my life was somebody I met 25 years ago.

She told me that she had been Rindt's girlfriend - and I am 100% certian that this was entirely true. It's all a long time ago, but I recall her mentioning that she went with him to Monaco, but I cannot remember the year.

I went out with a British ex-model about 25 years ago who'd dated Stirling Moss, so she said. I've no reason to disbelieve her but she was out of my league. Jochen and Nina nee Lincoln Rindt were married in '67 in Helsinki (I think) and their daughter Natascha is or was working in F1 in some capacity. The Essen (formerly Jochen Rindt) Motor Show, or at least opening night, is televised in several countries every year and Ms. Rindt is present. Auto Motor und Sport ran a nice article about her a few years ago. She's still beautiful - inside and out.

when I worked for F.O.M. (up til last year) Natascha was piloting us in Bernie's jet!! Don't know what she's doing now we aren't working on the digital TV service though.

I'm not certain if Tasch ever flew the FOM 146 Gary, I remember her acting as engineer on a couple of flights (including the one where the wing tip nearly hit the Biggin runway!!!), but when Bernie kicked us all out I think she continued her training and was looking toward Lauda Air as flying her godfather about didn't appeal to her. Nina sometimes went to the A1 ring, and I remember a surreal moment talking to her, Tasch and Jason Courage, and thinking, "if you'd have told me that would happen 10 years ago I'd have said, "yeah, right!!"" I would have thought there would have been a few ex Stirling Moss girlfriends!!!!
