I have been hearing stories for ages that Eddie Jordan is often referred to as "Wiggie" Jordan, because he wears a wig.

This just cracks me up coz it sounds all so silly, so I wanted to see what you guys knew/thought about this.

Kind Regards
Frans

I recall a story once from years ago (maybe like 98 spec) that Jordan F1 had been involved in some sort of anti-drug use promotion and someone had crossed out a letter so the slogan read "Just say no to rugs"

I heard it, too. It's kind of sad but he is really looking good for one his age, I have respect for that.

Yes, look at the picture. Look closely.

Look between the arrows - don't you also see a dividing line between hairpiece and natural hair?

How young is he? I had a friend who when he was 22, he could have used all the help he could get in that area. I have many friends in their late 20's and early 30's who compare notes on their hairloss.

Funny, I've been asking myself this same question for some time! He certainly looks like he wears a rug!

Maybe, we should call him "Curly"!

I've thought so since 1994 at least. Admittedly, it's one of the better rugs I've seen, but I'm 99% sure. How much money do you think we'd need to give bira to find out for sure?;)

If it's a rug then it's damn good one! He should put them on as a sponsor. he would make that company millions!

Note that on older photos his wig is a different one. He adapts them to the state of his natural hair. I am pretty sure that he had already a wig the moment Schumacher signed though I am not sure if this was the cause to wear one.

I am a fascinated skeptic - WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE?!! More photos please! IF it is a wig then maximum respect for a damn good one. It looks totally natural. I am skeptical. It looks too real. It must be real. Come on people, prove me wrong here.

I did a search of the Atlas Photo gallery and while he does appear to have a suspicious extra amount of hair on top IMO I would have to say for now, no he is not wearing a rug. The length of hair changes drastically from image to image so if it's fake he really spends alot of time on it. All his contemporary's have little or no hair.

Eddie may look like a penis (depending on the year) but that mullet is authentic Eddie Jordan. If not that, he has had a wig from a master craftsman to conceal the best hairplugs money can buy.

There are a few shots of the lives of Jordan on Atlas and the faded Gale Force if you need reference.

No way man. Take a look at 9 other team bosses and they all have an entry lane one way or the other. You think Eddie is a natural? NIKOLAS, WHERE IS THE BLOODY POLL?!? This one has to be settled by majority vote, I am afraid.

I actually started a poll on this subject some time back, but unfortunately the thread got deleted.

With the benefit of hindsight, perhaps having as one of the pole choices, "Firman only got the drive at Jordan because he was Eddie Jordan's lover", wasn't the best way to go about it.

Perhaps we should hand the whole issue over to atlasf1 court?

Back when he had that hair style like one of the characters from Ghostbusters people used to say, "why has he got that pet on top of his head" but I dont think it is a wig. Maybe it was, and now he has gone for a hair-transplant, but I don''t think that's a wig. :drunk:

If he's wearing one, that's one damn fine wig! Hell, I'm 15-20 years younger, have a full head of hair, and it doesn't look nearly as good as Eddie's...

On the other hand, Bernie desperately needs a haircut. Is he striving to out-do Bill Gates "Billionairs with really bad haircuts"?

Bernie looks like some sort of mushroom with that bowl cut. Or maybe a beatle.

He does wear a wig,tis mentioned somewhere in Chris Hilton's book on Alesi, something commenting on Alesi's close relationship with EJ,it says that of the whole team,Alesi was the only one who could get away with ribbing eddie about his wig.

I remember the celebrations on the Spa podium in '98, Eddie had his hands full trying to hold the wig in its place when Damon and Ralf drowned him in Moet! :p

Maybe thats the reason why Team Jordan is terminally afraid of success?

Anyway: evidence #3 - the conspirational evidence. :p

Definitely a bonded hairpiece. However, he may have a marginal frontal hairline remaining; that's the key. If he has lost his hair from the back, it is much earier to conceal, but if his hairline receded front to back, he'd have to comb the thing down with bangs or have one of those Sy Sterling HCFM jobs where they paste this membrane thing on your scalp and create the "virtual" hairline.

So....if you wonder who has too much time on their hands watching infomercials on Pacific Coast Time while waiting for live Speedchannel coverage and contemplating his own vanishing mane..guilty as charged.

Touche' or is that....Toupee'

I hope he does, I'd hate to know that there is a barber who goes to bed every night with the knowledge that he does Bernie's hair.

I was tongue in cheek ;) - Bernie hasn't been to a hairdressers since c. 1958 - he had receding hair as long ago as 1951 - if you've ever since the photos of him in his racing days (Bernie's Game by Terry Lovell has some gems) you'll be in no doubt.

Yet there are people who have hair like Bernies & it's real.......

holiday: i concede that particular point but you have to agree that if it is trulli a wig it's a stunning example that should be modelled in the Oct GQ.

He may be gone to F1, but his chiselled good looks and salt-and-pepper hairpiece lives on.

Posted Image

The question still remains: is that hair a rug, is it some sort of plug, or some sort of heat-treated rubber mould? Either way, it is very convincing.

I raise the matter again because some startling new evidence has come to light. This site claims that the wig is for real, and there are in fact three wigs of varying lengths to create the illusion of growth!

There is talk (seriously) of EJ being involved in some sort of wig factory. I promise it is true because I read it on the internet.

Even more OT, you can actually harness pubic hair to be plugged into the top of your head. I saw this ginger-haired bloke a few years ago on a plane and he confessed that is what he had done. It was very frizzy and IMHO looked ridiculous.

Anyway,

I call on new fans who didn't see the original thread from way back in 2003 to give their verdict. To be honest I am unsure about the authenticity of EJ's hair, and it is keeping me awake at nights as I struggle through this break in Formula 1. Please help me to help yourself and participate in this F1 speculation/therapy.

Give your verdict: NATURAL or RUG?

It's definitely a wig..a friend in England even told me there are different versions of it he wears.. I was told about this 3-5 years back. Ever since then I've looked at Eddie's pics and you can see a small gap between the hair and his head. Another wig wearer appears to be Mick Jagger. A reviewer said his and Ron Wood's hair doesn't get wet during the show and suggested they have wigs. I just got that Stones book with the red cover recently..and from the early 80s on Mick's hair is exactly the same length in every picture. When they came back this year his hair was again the same length as all the latter day pics...That's impossible if it isn't a wig. Joe Lynn Turner of Rainbow/Deep Purple has a wig but it looks good.....At least he has a good excuse, alopecia ( a condition that robs you of all your body hair) since he was 12 or something.

If Jordan has a wig it's very well made. Even better than what William Shatner has.
