Marie Trintignant, daughter of actor and part-time race driver Jean-Louis Trintignant, died on 1 August at the Hartmann Clinic in Neuilly. Allegedly beaten up on 26 July in Vilnius, Lithuania by her drunken boyfriend, Bertrand Cantat, 39, the lead singer of the rock band Noir Desir, Trintignant, 41 was flown to France the day before she died, where she had remained in a coma.
Not the most pleasant news but it deserves to be noted and Mme. Trintignant to be remembered. 3-4 years old while her father was filming "A Man And A Woman", I guess she would be the great niece of Maurice Trintignant or what?

I have never even contemplated that Jean-Louis was related to Maurice, but I loved that movie...
Even if the sequel wasn't as good, I don't mind it either.
A tragedy, as BR says, these things should never happen...

Yes, Jean-Louis Trintignant is the nephew of Maurice, and I think he did a bit of racing or rallying.
Regarding Marie Trintignant, this is a real tragedy!
