For instance, in this weeks magazine, we have Monkslav Wallejz Dehonkz reporting the Porsche Super Cup Race from the Hungaroring. Last year, on Autosport Online, we had Monk de Wally de Honk testing a 1956 Vanwall at one of the F1 tests (he was last by the way). He has appeared earlier this year at one point, but I cannot remember where exactly now.
Does anyone know why Autosport does this? Who is this person? Does anyone give a ****? (fill in your choice of four letter expletive).

Monk d'Wally d'Honk was a minor running gag in the comedy series The Young Ones,
(In fact, I think he and "Toxteth O'Grady, USA" were the answers to most of the questions on University Challenge in the episode 'Bambi').
I've seen him a couple of times in the Beano's reports - once at the Spa or Nurburgring 24 Hours, and I think in an FIA or BPR GT race too.
I'm assuming at least one of the subs or journos is a thirtysomething alternative comedy fan (which would make him a decade or so older than most of the contributors to Autosport these days!).
