Can someone help me complete these results?

Date: Wed, Jun 10 - Thu, Jun 11 (I've also seen Jun 15 as start date)
16 laps of 37.5 miles (?)
Rules: 202 CID, 2400 lbs (?)
23 entries, 22 starters, 6 finishers (?)

1 Kenelm Lee Guinness, Sunbeam (4 cyl. - 3.3 litres), 10:37'49", 56.44 mph
2 Christian Riecken, Minerva, 10:57'38"
3 L. Molon, Minerva (is that Léon or Lucien?)
4 ?, ?
5 Jean Porporato, Minerva
6 W. O. Bentley, DFP 12/40 (6-3.3)
R Algernon Lee Guinness, Sunbeam (4-3.3), 12 laps
R Dario Resta, Sunbeam (4-3.3)
R ?, #20 Humber (4-3.3, 82*156)
? A. J. Hancock, #6 Vauxhall 90 hp (4-3.307)
? W. Watson, #17 Vauxhall (4-3.307)

FL Guinness, 37'56.5"

half-distance standings:
1 ? Guinness, 5:18'57" (?)
2 ? Guinness, 5:22'07" (?)
3 Porporato, 5:31'09" (?)
+ 10 cars

- I have read that only four-cylinder cars started, but the DFP 12/40 is a 6-cylinder!!!?
- different sources give #1 to K. Guinness, but Porporato first starting position - maybe both right??
- Darren Galpin's site gives the following DNFs:

R Pullen, Rudge
R Davies, Sunbeam
R Godfrey, Indian
R Paul Derkun, Indian

but I believe this mixes up the bike and car events, because the Senior TT that year had these results:

1 Cyril G. Pullin, Rudge
2= Howard R. Davies, Sunbeam
2= Oliver Godfrey, Indian
(...)
31 P. J. Derkum, Indian

Anyone help? :)

Fourth finisher was R S Witchell's Straker-Squire
Bill Guinness was leader from Algy Guinness at half-distance
Definitely bikes on Darren's site
I'll see if I can find the regs later - all I can lay my hands on at the moment is the maximum engine size of 33100cc - is that the same as 202 ci?

Thanks for that, just a few points:
  • Knight is not an engine make or manufacturer, it's a type like "Diesel", "Otto" etc.
  • Adlerwerke vorm. (=vormals=ancien in French) Heinrich Kleyer AG

Jimmy

The Humber drivers initials were W.G.Tuck: the W may have stood for William as I think I saw somewhere a reference to Bill, but I cannot find the source.

Whoever supplied you with the name Friar I think was having a joke which may be meaningless to you; Friar Tuck being one of Robin Hood's gang of merry men.

John

I guess these are the same men that raced in the 1908 TT?

1st Watson (Hutton)
7th Rawlinson (Darracq)
Not classified - Molon (Vinot-Deguingand)
Retired - Tuck (Beeston-Humber)

Could it be that "Friar" was a contemporary nickname for Tuck?

I have no evidence for this, it just seems plausible.

Is there anything known about the background of the RAC system of team colours?
At least for some foreign entries, they seem to have fallen back on national racing colours.
