I re-did the logo a coupls of weeks back - the previous logo had been done hurriedly, and I was never truly happy with it. In re-doing it, I updated the car a little and (strangely, I suppose) decided that I should get rid of the Marlboro colours, as they don't really have a car in F1 anymore... (at least not with their old chevron style). I used a solid red, as I thought it would go best with the new sites colours - although I guess it looks like a Ferrari now... the driver's helmet is, of course, still yellow - so it's not Villeneuve - but it's not really Senna either - as the green stripe is missing. In truth, I made it to be non-specific.
I have, however, had some complaints aboout it, with several people commenting that they'd lilke to see me return the logo to the Senna Marlboro McLaren...
Anybody else feel that way?

To us europeans of a certain age atleast, the chevron-style Marlboro colours IS a "generic" F1 car. Further suggestions are black/gold, british racing green... All of these schemes are not used in F1 today, and therefore doesn't represent a particular car/driver.

Are there any plans to ever release another calendar? Those were fantastic.

I may make a return to the calendars - however, almost definitely not this year. There are various reasons for this, but the most pressing one is that I am, at present, just finishing the first year of a 2 year masters degree at the Royal College of Art in London, and the degree leaves me little time of my own, especially between the end of the GP season and the lead up to Christmas and the new year.
Once I get my website updated and look after this degree, I'll be thinking of world dominatio... oops, I mean I'll consider doing the calendars again...

It's one of the few calendars that I've kept. I mean, really - how can you throw that out at the end of the year.
If, after three days, Bruce still can't distance himself from his first limbic reaction and makes this nowhere funny drawing, it's maybe time for him to go.
scheivlak - wtf are you talking about?????

I agree it's not funny but it does fit in well with the overall tone of the journal this week.

Lighten up. How the hell do you expect anyone to find humour from that event? Or are you just whining due to the colour of the car shown? Ferrari did 'win' you know...
I thought it was spot on...

Sometimes levity is inappropriate. I thought that this was one of those times.

Anyway, Bruce, is the point of ur drawings to be funny, ironic or whatever comes to your mind? Maybe to clarify the expectations of certain people that frequent the site.
Anyway keep up the good work

I agree... there were no winners at that event, but I'm sure some people made lots of money regardless (Bernie). Michael won the race, but he didn't look too happy about it (although that may change if he wins the championship).
My input - a beer bottle bouncing off the car might not have been out of place.

Bruce - I imagine that there was plenty of things to try to cover in this weeks version...you picked the best. Disappointed...stunned and still shocked after almost a week. Sad day for the sport and the toon sums it up well.

I thought this week's cartoon did the job quite well and quite rightly.

The focues was not on Ferrari, or Micheline, or Max, or Minardi. I think there is loads of blame to go around. Lots of people would have loved to see me "paddle" Ferrari. Loads of others would have enjoyed me "paddling" Micheline (and i presume you fall into the latter group. I found the whole spectacle disgusting and thought there was enough blame to go around to focus on the situation as opposed to one particular player or facet.
Geez. I'll bet Gary Larson never had to make excuses like i do....

Hmmm, it's the 19th now and I haven't seen it yet. Is it forthcoming? Or am I just overlooking it?

here's what happened - the reason I managed to forget to send it off in the first place is that I was leaving England to visit family in Canada on the day I was supposed to send in the cartoon (and indeed, thought I had). In going to Canada, I left my computer and all my files here in England, where I only returned today - far too late to meet Atlas' deadline. I will make sure that the cartoon appears alongside the German race, or more likely, will insert it in the next "dead" week...
Sorry for making all of you wait -
Cheers - Bruce
