Nello Pagani, aged 92, died yesterday in Miazzina on the Lake Maggiore in a nursing home where he had been since last August when he became ill with bronchitis and pneumonia.
In this occasion I discovered that his real first name was Cirillo. Cirillo "Nello" Pagani.

Very, very sad but I am afraid this was long expected by myself - I knew he was extremely frail for some three years now.
He was a motorcycling great, yes, but he was more than adept at 4 wheels as well - as were many of his era. He was also active in the motorcycle historic festivals for aeons - up until 1999, in fact & had very good health until relatively recently. He always brightened up festivals for many enthuiasists.
He was an excellent team manager as well, IIRC in motorcycles. As I say, very sorry to see him go, but glad he's finally at peace after long poor health - thank Alessandro for letting us know so promptly. So, another motorcycling legend gone - what a tough year for fans of the genre.
