I used to follow up the development of that F1-1977 mod, but now they disappeared (at least to me). Does anyone in here knows where they're hiding these days ?

TIA

SBDT has gone commercial, they're now working on a whole new GTR game. There's little chance the 1977 mod will be finished (at least on short term) and if it will be releaed you will most likely have to pay for it as well. I personally think you can kiss the 1977 mod goodbye.

I won't mind if I have to pay for F1-1977, but if they stopped developing it...

Sniff...

Well, there currently is an 1978 mod in progress, but It's done by just one guy, and he has already finished some cars. Check out this thread for screenies and vids http://dynamic2.game...pic.php?t=66110 . Maybe the mod won't be of the same quality as the 1977 from SBDT, but nonetheless it looks good. Dont know when it will be finished though.

Here's why work on the 1977 mod has been halted.

GTR

They're making a fully licensed Fia GT simulation. I don't think they'll work on anything else untill GTR is in the stores. Sure hope they will release the 1977 stuff in some way though. From what I understood they really intend to pick the project up in the future (this was posted in the old simbin forums, before it got pulled down). Main issue will be licensing cuz with them being a real company nowadays it'd be a huge risk to release anything without a license...

Gosh

They did an awefully huge amount of work on F1-1977 that I simply refuse to think that they'll trash it. I guess that they landed a contract to do some pro-mod, or a game, and when they finish it, they'll resume work on the '77... I was so hoping of racing the Copersucar-Fittipaldi... On the old Ring...

IT may end up being released for F1C, as well. Which is a bummer cause I can't get that game to work quite right, but F12K2 works great!

I didn't know of this 78 mod... but still there is no decent netcode in F1C. Too sad...

It is no game, it's just a mod (modification) of F1-Challenge 99-02 at the moment. Maybe it will be transfered to the upcomming game rFactor, if that one proofes to be a good base for our mods.

So you will need F1-Challenge to play the demo.

Yeah I thought it was a mod, just someone else said I'll buy the game, hence I got confused, so claification request I did.

I've played the demo, Monza track, immediate response was, very good, be cool to rip it around Monaco and Spa in the full mod when it comes out.
