70's are the new 40's then

In fact, even 71 (b. 1942).
Basic arithmetic and spelling were never my strong points

@ FoS 2012...
Another superb shot David - I was always a fan of Oliver's, more so after he bothered to spend about 20 minutes talking to me and my mate in the McLaren paddock area at Silverstone in 1971. We were at Woodcote for the start of the GP and Jackie managed about 25 feet before stuffing his M14 into the back of Graham Hill's Brabham.

Is the Jackie Oliver estate agents in Towcester the same Jackie?
Er, no. Jackie is a lady in this case.

Jackie Oliver speaks with a London/Essex accent and a gritty voice, so not a public school boy?

He was born in Chadwell Heath, which is about a 15 minute cycle ride from where I live and is far from being one of the poshest of areas. Actually it's a bit of a dump.

His father owned a large commercial refrigeration factory, and , inter alia, ran a Merc 300SL, ISTR, which JO borrowed as a lad. He was an excellent guest speaker at one of RTH's film shows. Try Simon Taylor 's Lunch With article for more info.
Roger Lund
Edit. Do not blame JO for the fact that his father had a few bob.
