Hi,

Hope this is ok to post this here!! If not sorry  (total newbie to forum)

I recently bought a BAR sidepod from the 1999 silverstone race. It is in perfect condition apart from marks from the race. It is the lucky strike side of the car as 1999 was BARs first year and when they ran the dual livery cars. I have the CoA but unfortunately they could not authenticate that it had been JV's car although they were told it was.

I think it looks amazing and I am going to mount it on my wall but I was wondering what people thought this kind of thing was worth?? Do you think it might be a good investment? Just interested. Not sure I would ever sell it anyway :) Was thinking of trying to get the same but from DC's mclaren with david on it but i imagine that would cost a small fortune!

Thanks for any info

Colin

Out of interest, how much did it cost you?
Also, it isn't from the British GP, thats was a non-tobacco race.
You should check out autosport.net he sells a lot of parts you migh get a idea of it's worth there.

Hi,

I paid 500 for it. I have seen a jordan one going for more. There aren't many intact side pods going about so it is hard to get a comparison.

I see what you mean about the non-tobacco but the shop I got it from is an official f1 seller. I have spoken to him and he says he thought the same originally so he is going back to his supplier to get the exact details on its history. Meanwhile I am trying to find an actual race photo of the BAR that i can see the side of it.

who knows what will be the outcome :) Regardless.... there are few things in this world that look better mounted on a living room wall!!

Thanks

Colin
