After being a F1 fan for a number of years, I still don't know the answer to this question. Could anyone help?

When you win the Championship (either driver's and constructor's), other than the trophy, do you win any money? From FIA? Organizers?

The WCC order determines how the TV money is split between the teams. The amounts are specified in the Concorde Agreement I believe.

What are the prizes for winners of GP's?
Do GP-winners actually get to keep their trophies?

some years ago I read that McLaren drivers had performance-based contracts which stipulated 1 mill. USD bonus for each race win. So I think that actual prize money for GP win must be more than 1 mill.

Something I've always been curious about is the actual World Championship trophy and, what seems to be a complete lack of ceremony for the clinching driver. Maybe this takes place after the cameras stop rolling at the actual race where the titles are clinched, but, like when Schumacher won the title in 2002 after the French GP, they did the routine podium celebration, and then congratulated Schumacher during the press conference, but...no special ceremony or distinct trophy handed out. Am I blind to something here?

WDC and WCC trophies (amongst other trophies for all FIA-sanctioned world series and FOM trophies) are presented at FIA Gala Ceremony held in Monaco in the end of November, IIRC.

here goes my 2 cents. dirvers do get to keep their own trophies unless they drive for McLaren, in which case they (I think RD pays for them) have facimilies made. The originals being kept at Mac H.Q.

I also seem to remember the Enzo did somthing along the same lines but I am not too sure about this.

All drivers appear to have a performance bonus in their team contract, and there are obviously added value $$$$ sponsorhips deals to work out with the WDC #1 (comapnies will pay a lot for that tag on their advertising). I don't remember their being a prize as such from the FIA though.

in the USA they print the cash paid per position in the newspaper as part of the race results
for all forms of motorsports
and tell you how the yearend championship cash is paid too

but in F-1 this is treated as a big mystery
so does anyone know 2003 payouts per team at years end????
and how the amounts are divided ie x$ per point or X$ per place
is there a sepraite drivers fund,? or is $$$$ paid only to the team

They also go to the podium to celebrate their victory spraying champagne. :smoking:

I think it was Eddie Jordan who said that they (the team) always miscalculate the amount they think they'll get after every race.

Bizarre.

.... apart from the recognition that they get for their efforts. For the drivers it is an added 'feather in their cap' and an accomplishment that would sustain their race drive for the coming seasons.

Nope. The driver, if he wants one, pays for the replica. You think Ron would be gracious enough after a win ... :

The trophies presented to the drivers on the podium are the drivers to keep.
If McLaren or Ferrari are having replicas made they are doing so for themselves.
If you remember Barrichello accidentally smashed his British Grand Prix Trophy at the airport.
