Hi Guys,

I'm in the middle of moving and am not gonna have the dish up at the new place in time. :|

Does anyone know of a good venue to watch the race anywhere in the Bay Area. I'm hoping to avoid watching it at a sports bar with massive TVs tuned into basketball and just a little one on the side that they put on the racing for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I'd invite you over to my place, but my big screen is broken until the Monday after the race!

What part of the Bay are you in? I can ask around the Minardi club and see if they know of any places.

Yes, where do you live exactly? For example, San Jose, San Francisco, etc.

Thanks for replying guys!!!

I live in Fremont at the moment, but would be able to pretty much go to any city to watch as I'm an avid fan. Can go to SF, East Bay, South Bay, peninsula, etc.....

Thanks much.

And you wish to avoid sports bars? I would say they are your best bet...

I live in San Jose, close to Los Gatos. I am not going to be home on Saturday night, but I will be recording the race that night. If all else fails, if you want, you can come Sunday to pick up the tape or something. I do not know who might be showing it, but probably one of the british bars/pubs should have it on.

That was my thinking. There are tons of places like that in downtown San Jose on Santa Clara street.

Try Britannia Arms. British pubs. Several around the South Bay. At least there, you'd be competing with Soccer/Football/darts vs. hoops.
Ricky's in San LEandro was also a good suggestion. Not sure about Sat. night though....

Nah, San Francisco. I've been to Ricky's a couple of times when they tape delayed races, and maybe a Canadian GP or two. It wasn't as bad as a lot of other bars, lots of screens and even two different feeds, but yeah, on a Saturday night, might be a little different. Least it's not as crazy as before during or after Raider games.

Sweet. I never knew they did F1.

There is another pub in downtown San Leandro called "The Englander". I know they would play the race. Unfortunatly the screens are small.. food is good though.

Hi all, anyone has any specific recommendations for the F1 aussie GP sat night, to watch in atlanta. Id love to meet up with interested fans to enjoy the race. Im a ferrari fan, but am a fan of the sport more than anything else. I was thinking of the ESPN zone myself.
thanks

I used to be on a mailing list for a group that would regularly get together at Jocks & Jills on Peachtree St. in Brookhaven - right across the street from the MARTA station. I've lived too far outside the city for a few years now so I don't make it myself, but I imagine they still do. You might call J&J to confirm.

We have a thread about watching in DC and now one for watching in Atlanta, if each US city starts a new thread I'm going home. :|
