I couldn't add a post to my original thread a few years back. I found this interesting page:

A few picks of Edenvale too:

I used to work with a guy who used to race his Morgan at Herewood and Mosport. After selling his Morgan he worked the races as a tech inspector/scrutineer. Although he's now retired, I occasionally get together with him to hear him tell stories of the "good old days". He remembers racing against Roger Penske. Although there is about 30 years difference in our ages, it's facinating talking to someone who was there.

EHAGAR,
Spotted your post with interest and searched back and read your previous. I am not a frequent poster and links are certainly not my forte, so they may not work. I have a couple more pieces of abandoned BCATP turned race tracks, now defunct you may be interested in from Saskatchewan.

I have lots of history, photos, results of Davidson ... not much about Dafoe. There were many others in Hamlin, Sask., Gimli and Mcdonald, Manitoba, and Shepard in Alberta and all over BC.
If you haven't been invited before, I suggest you check out our Canadian Motorsport History Group as there are members with far more info than I have about the BCATP race tracks, and likely a lot more info about Harewood and Edenvale.

Seems I can only post the thumbnails from the site that hosts the images. Maybe the album page will work better. See "scantrack" on page one and "dafoeoverlay" on page 2.

Thank you, Mike!

I was very curious about the airport circuits in Sask.

Found a few pictures of RCAF Port Albert (Greenacres) on the web. Location of the abandoned field is 43.883 N 81.7 W

First picture is an IFR approach plate into Goderich. If you look to the North of Goderich you will see Port Albert. It has three intersecting runways.

Second picture is a Sat. picture of the place.

I can make out two of the runways (North-South, North West-South-West), but the runway heading towards lake Huron is a little difficult to make out. To the North at the intersection point of the two runways appears to be some sort of either road (aircraft Apron aera? base? Hangars?). Not exactly sure where the flightline is.

I phoned my cousin, Rob Virtue, the other night to get some insights and impression of driving Harewood Acres. He drove a FV there in the track's last season, 1970. Unfortuneately, he was on a biz trip in Atlanta. I'll try to reach him again this weekend.

Roger Penske (Porsche) is featured in this photograph from 1960 dicing with Peter Ryan (Porsche).

The photo also shows the Gunnery, a remnant of WW2, which often distinguishes this flat airport circuit from others of that era.
