Is this a known problem with GPL under WinXP? Any workarounds or suggestions?

As for video card: well, I would hope an NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4400 would at least be acceptable to install GPL.
I'll check out www.racesimcentral.com...

Check out http://www.experts-e...Q_20592945.html (found in a simple search for NTVDM.exe, xp, error) "NTVDM is the NT Virtual DOS Machine, which should only be required if you're installing something which runs in DOS mode." So, it seems that this has something to do with DOS. You're not selecting anything to do with DOS during the installation, are you?

The error comes up during install.
Having said that, I have found and fixed the problem. It is a GPL problem -- specifically, the Sierra installer barfs if you have dual monitors. I disabled the second monitor and it installed fine. Patched it using the all-in-one patch and it runs fine. It even runs fine with the second monitor enabled again -- so it's just the installer that doesn't like dual monitors.

The only other game I've tried to install since I got the dual monitor setup going was QuakeIII, and it installed fine.
