Yes...and it's superb. Buy the book and then get the DVD with all the 'extras'.

There was also a TV programme that went out in 1999 for an hour on making the film, interviews with production people, stunt men and the sequences shot in the skating rink that did not get in to the film

Pretty much all of that I think is on the DVD, including the skating rink scene.

Thanks everyone. I haven't been able to locate a copy of the book, only Amazon in the UK seems to carry it. Oh, and yes, I'm referring to the original. The current crop of remakes (though the Italian Job remake was passable) out of Hollywood give me temendous intesital pains.

Really off-topic now but the next Caine movie to be remade is "Alfie"; they've already screwed up "Get Carter".

IIRC it's actually the Blue Danube (used in 2001 for the space station docking sequence)

Did you know that 70's racer and restauranter Val Mussetti drove one of the minis through the sewers of Coventry in the making of the original film, he was a stunt man and the money helped him to afford his racing. You can often see his name appear in the stunts on the credits of many popular TV episodes of that era. I hate him for forcing me to read the credits on most UK films and series for all these years, I never bothered 'till I met him...................Only joking Val! (He's bigger than me!)

Welcome Geoff , I well remember your racing career, many wins some most entertaining dices and always beautifully turned out cars. I was at many of the same meetings with my racing Mini.
