I just want to know what is the difference between F1 challenge 99-02 and EA F1 2002. Do you feel the difference behind your wheel? What kind of difference?

Thanks all

Apart from getting all 4 seasons of the EA license, there are a few other little changes. Yes, you can feel the difference behind the wheel. The car is slightly less susceptable to spinning (although it still does) and personally I could feel a bit more weight transfer in F1C. It's been so long now that I don't remember too many of the minor changes. F1C is a lot better for modding though.

F1C has better physics.

in F2002 you had a huge amount of high speed grip - not the case in F1C

This is what I'd replied to Scott in this thread.

But I'm quoting my post here too for you. :)

Best modern F1 sim at the moment, IMHO, is EA's F1C, hands down.

Scott, from the outside, it may look like purely cosmetic changes with F1C over F12002, but consider this....F1C has fixed the grip problem of F12002, that is, uncanny high grip at high speed and ridiculously low grip at low speed, which made driving at Monaco a mess, then there's the provision of having an analogue tacho, which wasn't there in F1C, then also, handbrake, lights, etc. and most importantly, a HUGE number of refinements to the physics engine, and that is ultimately what's most important, isn't it?;) The physics!

These new variables in the physics enable the mod makers to impart much more realistic parameters to the cars they model in their mod. Well-researched projects such as the Prototype-C mod ( http://www.virtua-lm.com/ ), ETCC mod ( http://www.rsr-forum.net/ ), SCC mod (www.rsdg.net), which all took over a year or more to make, really benefit from having such an extensive physics engine code to work with.

And lastly, consider that this is the LAST F1 sim for the forseeable future, till 2008, that is, unless Sony extend their deal even further  , so all the mods, addons, tracks, etc. will purely be focused on this sim, so its very wise to get a copy right NOW!

Cheers,
Sandeep.

the same problem between F102 and F1C is about track detail.
andi the high speed handling/braking still easy
