In 1960 Grand Prix of Brussels was organizied for the first time in 10 years (previous one was conducted in 1949). The event included two heats, and on aggregate timing Stirling Moss recorded the fastest race time of 2 hours 37 minutes and 17.2 seconds. But because the winner was decided on point basis it was Jack Brabham who won the Brussels Grand Prix that year. After 1960 Belgian capital saw its own Grand Prix event for two more consecutive years. The winners list of Brussels GP looks as follows: Luigi Villoresi (1949), Jack Brabham (1960, 1961), Willy Mairesse (1962).

OK, try Clermont-Ferrand, either Tony Marsh, Jack Lewis or Henry Taylor

Lorenzo Bandini, Cooper-Maserati T51, Pau, 03-04-1961
or
Nino Vaccarella, Cooper-Maserati T51, Vallelunga, 12-10-1961
or
John Guthrie, Cooper-Alfa Romeo T51, Kyalami Rand Grand Prix, 09-12-1961
or
Tony Settember, Emeryson-Climax, Posilippo, 20-05-1962
The pic is very vague, hardly clues for good research.

Not getting much response, are you?

It's Clermont-Ferrand and Jack Lewis. 'What?' and 'When?' questions are clear now, I think...

The 'who' element may be a bit of a surprise...

I suppose it could be Baird but the racing number doesn't match! Did Baird perhaps practice the car that week end but hand it over to Salvadori for the race?

I wish the answer had something to do with Archie Butterworth :

Spot on AAA-Eagle !
The entrant was G E Caprara (not a name I have heard before -who was he?) and Roy raced in both the 2 Litre unsupercharged event (The Joe Fry Memorial) over 20 laps and the 15 lap Formula Libre race.
And I agree it really doesn't look like him in the photo.

"G.Caprara was , if understanding well, the honorable correspondant in Italy, if you prefer the official owner of the car, only to avoid paying duty taxes. Don't confuse real owner and official owner"
