Then I will also go round silverstone in the 1999 Stewart-Ford with no traction. And see if I can still get around with no TC after 2 yrs .....in about 9 hrs from now I will give u my laptimes on both circuits .

BTW, really sorry about not getting Hitchin even after such a long time. I'll get it soon.

Its like I am driving on rock solid hard tyres and as if there is no aerodynamic grip @ all .....but then maybe I am spoiled by the CTDP 2004 thing
Anyway got a 1.25.2 and I was pushing it a bit ....made a few mistakes. Thing is I did only 40 odd laps ...and spent most of the time spinning around like crazy ... I have not driven without TC for 2 years
.
There is **** load of time to gain if I can get used to this no TC thing . Anotehr 1 sec is easy to gain ...just need more time to get adjusted to no TC.
PS : I am on dialup and sorry guys I can't DL 80 MB of hitchen track . I guess I will do only the CTDP 2004 1.1 and this otehr competetion.

It's impossible without steering assistence with a keyboard.
You're either turning or you're not.
Same with TCS.
I've learnt to minimise spinning by letting off on the exit and accelorating in a straight line, best you can do with a keyboard.

It's impossible to compare times between people using diffenrt mods.

I have moved over to CTDP 2004 v1.1 ....no disrespect to RH and his team but CTDP version feels much better. Are you all on RH 2004 ?

its possible using keyboard with no assistence.
but dont set zero to speed sensitive.
set lower steering sensitive.
not fun but still fun play with keyboard.
with steeringwheel.. set everything OFF. TC maybe Low or High
speed sensitive set 0.

I loaded up CTDP04 once or twice, and it felt like I was playing GP4 again... it was terrible. The RH04 physics seemed quite superior. I haven't given it another chance ever since, but maybe I will sometime.

Managed a 1.24.779 today in the Stewart at Silverstone. Seems adding a lot of rebound helps this car a lot in most of the critical corners. Didn't really expect that to be the case though.

2004 season
My best time is from memory, 1:34.7 something.
Some of the corners I'm enjoying much more then ever, you feel so committed through some of them, confidence boost it gives you.
Did my best time yesterday, was right on the edge of adhesion, the ragged edge, probabley lost some time as well.

I suggest that we use the following -
Stock settings using
RH 2004 v1.4 carset
RH 2004 v1.3b updated to v1.4 Trackset
both available @ www.emacf1.com
we can have TC and Shifting assistance allowed. No other assists .
I am ready to race at any track - but I have to say that these are my favourites in the RH track pack v1.4 - Spa , Sepang , China , Imola , germany ...but I am open to racing anywhere . But lets decide the track soon - in a coupld of days so that we can practice ..since I think it is best we have only qualy and race on the weekend
I think we will be able to have 5 or 6 guys from here maybe more ?
Lets call the server AtlasF1 {Trackname} and password will be SLOWPOKE (all caps)
Let the guy with the fastest server host the game ....
So who has the best connection here ?
I have a 256kbps ADSL connection ...
So what do you guys think ?

I'll like the track to be Sepang, I have been practicing there, it's a cool track, and never really raced there with other cars.
Gonna be tough finding a time for everyone to get on, what time are you on, and work that out for my london gmt greenwich time etc? I might be more available on Sunday then Saturday.
Assists, traction control yes, shifting yes, also you need clutch assistence, i've always had that on, plus you need invincability assist on, it's too hard to play without it, we normally have that on in the past, I don't want races over on the first lap, because a wing came off, the acceleration of these cars make it difficult to race close and adapt, because everyone normally has been doing testing, yet hardly any race, so following a car around a lap is pretty difficult while trying to be close, it's takes alot of practice, it's more of a race between lap times and who makes less mistakes, that's challenging enough, everyone might have a different view of breaking points, at least if someone fluffs up, they can carry on, or let someone go ahead because they know they caused the touch etc, it's all for fun, rather
then sit the race out, as your wing has come off.

Meantime, I see that rsdg.net has been having problems? Even though the front page says that the site is back, the downloads link doesn't lead anywhere. IIRC, I obtained RH2004, LeMans, and SportsCars updates from BitTorrent.
Anybody have any pointers to best download sites, assuming I can't recover from my old system?

- @ Sean - you are absolutely right mate ! Sepang rocks - the new RHv1.4 physics make it a joy to driver around Sepang in a well hooked up car . I am thinking of a Sunday race @ 10.00AM GMt ....@ Sepang - with the settigns I posted before . What do you guys think ? I am already off to practicising @ Sepang !

Game name - RH2004 Atlasf1
password - SLOWPOKE (all caps)
Track - mostly Sepang ...although we can change it if required later on tomorrow
I suggest we have a 6 lap qualy session and then a race for 20 laps .
Traction control , Clutch assistance , Shifting assistance are allowed - I have not decided about invulnerability ..but it might be needed if the connection is slow as I expect ... . No other assists pls.
Hope to see at least 3 or 4 guys from here . and if possible someone with a fast upload speed pls host the above game . ...because I have an ADSL and not DSL line .

It is difficult arranging a time, 10:30am was too early, I never had a race that early. Try again another time.

Until the next race sometime, do some hotlapping, and tell me your fastest time at sepang 2004 season.
Mine is a 1:34.7 something.

Well yesterday I was doing the weekend sessions in the FW26. I was setting flat 1'32" laps in practice and managed a 1'31"6 in one lap qualifying. I was two tenths up on my inlap too. The race was atrocious, though; I'm more than a little rusty.

Bloody hell!!!!! 1:31.6 jesus, wow,
If we have a race, you'll be running away with it Jim Clark, Schumacher style
And time to save the engine and breakes for later.
Jesus!!!!!!!!

I tried the Ferrari , McLaren , Williams and also Renault. ....much to my surprise the best time I managed was with the Renault - 1 .34.297 IIRC and it didn't feel fast. But of course the car was stable . So I think I might do some work with it and lets see when we can hook up again.
Alonso got pole in the Renault in 2003 I think, 2004, not sure of renault at sepang, but it's suited to the track, I might try it out.

Has anyone else experienced a strange problem with custom tracks where the physics can get screwed up? This is going from memory but there is a cache type file for each track that sometimes gets corrupted or something. I have this problem usually on Adelaide or Bathurst and grip is reduced to wet levels and you can see a water trail behind you when racing in the dry : The easy fix is to delete this cache file and let it be recreated but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
Other than that, I can't get enough of F1C and usually do a 1/2 or full race distance in the week leading up to the GP
PS, anyone know of any new pc F1 games in development? EA lost the rights to F1 correct? Are Ralph and his crew going to do RH05 or are we likely to see 05 season on PC anywhere soonish?
Thanks hopefully see you online sometime!!

cool ...all you need are -
1. the CTDP conversion pack (only if you don't have the CTDP 2003 pack)
2. The CTDP 2004 mod v1.0 basic pack
3. The CTDP 2004 track pack v1.0
4. The Hungaroring AI fix .
5 . The CTDP 2004 expansion pack v1.0
6. The CTDP 2004 patch v1.1
I am trying to do some hotlapping in the Sauber C23 and so far I have got it down to 1.32.3xx with super rate physics and extra tyre sampling. I reckon there is another 1 to 1.5 secs with good setup maybe ..in a Ferrari F2004 ..

Tried it out.. physics are completely different Would take me a long time to relearn so I'm going to stick mainly with RH for now.
Had a mess around in RH04 on Sepang for a 1:34.3 but I'm sure I could hit the 32s with a bit of work as I drop a fair bit of time in curves 4,5 and 8
