This game is awesome, get it now ! Feels fantastic, you have to learn the real rally techniques first before you can enter a championship, but boy do you need them !

Here's a screenie from my PC, an AMD1800+, 512Mb and Radeon 9800Pro, resized from 1024x768:

Here's an in-game movie (5Mb) :

its good.....more like the GPL of rally games (well sorta).

But i am having quite a few problems with it. It keeps on crashes during the training session videos and from time to time my video goes away and when it comes back its all pixelated.

I dunno what the porblem might be. i have a 6800 gt. maybe a driver upgrade might help.

I can't find a place where they ship it from Europe. I think that the American stores still don't have it. I do have to wait :|

Amazon UK sends to the USA (software), but not to Mexico. I guess my previous message was a bit confusing, since I meant that I could go to the US and buy it there. Thanks anyway.

This may be the one. Their shipping is done by royal mail , which probably will use the normal mail in Mexico which I deeply distrust. If these guys could use a private courier like DHL or Fedex , I'm all game.
Thanks!

I've only tried one stage so far but

It sees my accelerator as a bit dodgy atm as it sticks at 1/2 way occassionally on lift which adds an extra special challenge.

I ordered it from www.sendit.com and it shipped on Monday (should have shipped on Friday but anyhoo : ).

Hopefully it gets here before the Aussie release date (17th) to make things worth it.

A friend of mine competed on some of the Canberra stages in the game and so I've got a copy of the real pacenotes. It shall be interesting to compare them to the game. :)

just editing.. the fine people of sendit.com have DHL service. Nice! I'm set.

Thanks for the heads up A3!!!

Wow.. awesome game. I took a quick spin just now. You know a gaming company really got it right when your engine gets louder and changes tone due to your right side door window being smashed out.

Get a perfect score on all the advanced school stages and you'll unlock a car. :)

I'm halfway through my first season now, not doing too good. :D

There is a save from someone who has won everything, search google for richard burns cheats and you'll find it, i cant do that, i have to buy good steering wheel, with keyboard at my best i'm 12 sec off the pace at the 1st CP in france, and i loose quite more at the fast sections where steering precision is required :(

Woohoo! It finally arrived (1 day before it was due to be released here anyway : ). For some reason it's a lot easier than it was on PS2 - even using the same controller (Momo Force plugs straight into the PS2). It only took me 4 goes to get perfect on the rally school stage and even that was really sloppy so I can go much quicker. I'm currently doing a rookie championship on safe damage just so I can get through and unlock all the cars/stages.

I've got the black lines between track segments bug and the front wheels don't steer when watching a replay. I hope they patch this game soon because lots of people are having trouble with it which is a pity because the driving model is fantastic. Graphics are quite smooth on my 9700 pro with 4xFSAA and 8xAF too.

Set your FSAA and AF to 'application controlled' and you won't see the black lines anymore.

Well, I finished the rally school and started the rally season. BUT, how on earth I can understand Reid's pacenotes, i dont know what he means. In Colin, it was all clear, 3rd left tightens - 3rd gear left corner be aware at exit, it tightens. But Reid's, i dont understand them, he says left 50 - what on earth does it mean. On the stages with a lot of trees or up and downs, where i dont see what exactly is the next corner i should either stop like i'm getting hairpin or i'm risking to crash... Please anyone tell me what Reid's pacenotes mean!

Well I thought the number is the length of a straight.. so say "sharp left, easy right, 50" means 50 meters of straight, then the next corner? Dunno.

This notes are aweful, lets say you go for hairpin at 2nd gear at best, flat left means 6th gear, easy left 5th gear than we have 3rd and 4th gear for medium, 3rd or 4th, that's why i keep on crashing... I never hear K Left plus he talks quitely and not very expressive:((( I will try with these:)
pRy this really means the meters to the breaking point, you can switch on a counter:)

Yeah I know - but everything looks so UGLY without FSAA and AF. I'm an FSAA whore. I love it. I can't go back to not having it. :D Still, it's a bug that needs sorting.

I finished my first novice season which was nice and easy except it rained. And rained. And rained. Then it snowed. Then it went back to raining. Overall, about 75% of all the stages I did were wet and USA, Finland and France were wet start to finish. I'm starting a proffesional championship now and in England it only rained once (final stage when the prediction said 10% chance of rain and weather unchanging from dry...) so hopefully things will be different this time round.

I found Robert Reid's voice a bit soft too so I just upped the co-driver volume. All good there.

Just soft? His pacenote are at least misleading, at the 3rd stage in France in reality it is fast left and hairpin, he says flat left 70 right... and what is this "vaulty" or whatever he says... the handling is real(except for those jumps which sometimes turn into big crash) but there are a lot of things to be improved...

I get 86 seconds on the school stage. Perfect score is 80, and 84 is a pass. I'm way off on this one.. need more practice.

What game is perfect? I don't have much problems with the pacenotes and don't see how the jumps are unrealistic. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best rallygame ever. And the best part is that I really, really enjoy it !

pace note issues seem to be a problem with all rally games.

im yet to try dick burns's effort, but ive played all the CMR ones (except the last) and the WRC ones and theyre all pretty **** on the pace notes.

WRC were the worse...not only would they call a hairpin as a medium or vice verca, sometimes they wouldnt call a corner at all, or call it a right when its left....

and even when they had the calls right, they were always a little too late.

pacenote just not really2 detail. just for clarification the turn.. its about speed. not about turn curve..

Yes, i think too  But i'm gettin angry because when i'm very very calm in my driving, Reid is making some stupid mistake and i'm ending upside down... otherwise, about fun, no question about it! this is the best game by a huge margin, it was such a great fun to drive the rally school test with every single corner with positive camber and you can powerslide so nice... the sound is absolute top quality, just Robert! And really the jumps when you go off road are a bit unrealistic, i mean i roll way too much...

I love this game. The snow is a blast. At first I thought ugh, this is gonna suck, but it was huge fun... half way into one stage i had to snap myself out of the 'trance' I was in I became so lost in the corners and notes. I think if you play this game with your foot down all the time you will struggle... this game is about precise controlled agression and establishing a good rhythm.

Indeed pRy. I've found the pacenotes are, for the most part, adequate if you don't push really hard. That is, as long as you leave yourself a margin for every type of corner - so go slightly slower than you know you can take a 'fast' corner when he calls 'fast'. Also, it can be difficult when the surface type changes during a stage as the pace notes don't seem to adjust very well. I've noticed this particularly in America when going from dusty roads to gravel - the gravel is a lot more slippery than the dirt and I have to slow down a bit more. There are, however, some truely horrible calls. One of the American stages has an 'over crest, 30, fast right' call where you are over the crest and in mid air before he calls the right hander. A lot of times he needs to call 'jump' too as I'll slow down if he does.

Anyway, not the best but not the worst pacenotes either. After enough running at this game with it's limited stages I'll have learnt where all the dodgy calls are and know to avoid them.

The physics model is just awesome and keeps me coming back for more. :)

Why isn't there a function (in all rally games) that allows you to customize the pace notes?

An awesome driving game.Worthy of comparision with papyrus simuations from a pure driving point of the view. Its amateur hour in regards to menu and replay system though. But luckily thats not really that important.

Because almost all rally games are made for consoles - where complications such as that aren't wanted. And this one was no exception. You are, however, able to adjust how soon, or late the calls are made. This can be good for somewhere like America where you may need to make the calls a bit earlier but you need to fiddle with it from rally to rally so it isn't ideal.

However, you can change the actual sounds used for calls in RBR - so we are one step closer and with the modding possibilities of this game I wouldn't be surprised if people are able to do a whole lot more eventually.

mmm i think it is smth like F1 challenge in terms of mods:) I mean you can see that there are a lot of ini's to be changed and i saw that there are some .dat extractors:) So may be there is a possibility for new cars too... about the snow, its too soft, but there is an update on bhmotorsports.com for this, then it is really real:) Anyway, i like to push and when i dont push i find myself about 10 sec of richard's time for a single check point, when i push, i'm as fast:)

I'm hoping this will resolve my pedal problems (controller sticks at 50% sometimes) to make it more playable.

GOOD POINTS
-----------------

1) Fixed wheel turning bug in replays

2) No-DvD required

BAD POINTS
---------------

1) Introduced a new bug where the windshield cracks in odd black crack lines. If you flip your car upside down in this situation, you'll see that the crack now looks as its supposed to. So something's wrong-side up here.

2) Tranny whine sounds like the drivetrain is right behind your head and the engine is 6 miles away.

3) ATi Radeon 8500/9000/9200 trees/objects flickering still present.

And I thought patches were supposed to IMPROVE the product..

Anyone played the US Rally yet? There is one stage where the road literally drops right infront of you into some huge ravine type thing and it scared the crap out of me, I spun just from the reaction.

may be:)
but to play with keyboard is definetely much much easier:) I'm posting my best times now and i feel confident with the car in the fast sections which wasnt the case before and i can push much more:) though it spins more easily on hairpin exits:)

Patch has been fine for me. I'm the same speed as I was before it so nothing has changed there and it's good to have the wheels steering in replays. It's harder to drive with a cracked windscreen than before although the solution is to not crash in the first place. :p

It's going to take a few more patches before this sim comes up to scratch as a game. :)

Do yo guys notice that at faster speeds of the car the video quality is much better than at lower speeds?

Unfortunately, I happen to be having a lot of bad video quality
