Certainly, I cannot remember rain falling during a Grand Prix at Monza. Going from memory as far back as the early 1970's at least. Has there ever been a wet Grand Prix at Monza?

Actually the 1976 race was damp if I recall correctly.

Well apparently it's been bucketing down all day at Monza !
Finally a wet race !!!

This morning it is raining in Monza and it doesn't look like the rain will stop before the start of the race. The temperature is currently 19 degrees. If the rain will become more heavily the race will be started behind the safety-car. If rains keeps falling down the Italian Grand Prix will be the first race of the 2004 season in wet conditions.

Juan Pablo Montoya commented this morning on the weather: "If it rains or not, it doesn't make any difference to me. We'll see what will happen."

Michael Schumacher is known for being an expert in wet conditions. The German seemed to be in a good mood this morning. He commented on the weather this morning: "With this kind of weather it will be interesting for sure. I don't mind that it rains at all."

There hasn’t been a wet race here since the 1981 race was affected at times by precipitation, and certainly there will be a lot of careful thinking by the teams and stewards to decide just what set-up changes will be allowed if it is still this wet this afternoon. There is no real sign that the weather will get a lot better, but right now it is a case of wait and see.

I thought he said "If it rains or not, it doesn't make any difference to me. I'll still find innocent victims to collide with in ambitious at best overtaking maneuvers and ruin their race." ;)

That sounds like something Michael Schumacher would say

Didnt it rain in monza in 1956?I know it has rained only in 2 races in Monzas history, 81 was one of them and the other was 56 I think..Anyone could back me up or prove me wrong?

A bridgestone race then? Their wet tyres were much better than Michelin's last year, and there's no reason to think that this changed (going by the Spa Q1).
