In the 1964 Nurburgring 500 Km, Radbourne Motors entered a Fiat-Abarth 850TC for Charles Gunther and John A. Anstead (Car #38). Does anyone have any photographs of this car or this race? I have a race description from Time and Two Seats by Janos Wimpffen, but it of course misses things out. If anyone could supply any further information on the race, then I would be grateful.

Darren, I have the wonderful Abarth book, and many Nürburgring sources. I will have a look in all of the them.......after my holidays in two weeks. If you wouldn't get an answer until then, please send a mail as a reminder.

Darren

I have the complete press releases of that race, containing the final grid, the list of actual starters, the list of the "teams" i.e. Marken-Teams and Club-Teams, all race reports with intermediate standings and the complete final results.

Please send me an e-mail.

Should I'll send you an e-mail too Udo? Looks as if you visited that race?

Darren . Just printed a lot of photos from this race , but none of the Abarth.I could ask my pal Lincoln Small (owner of Radbourne) if he has anything.

I'm very much interested in photos from that race. How can I get them?

No, I wasn't there, Holger, but got access to a certain archive (which is now closed unfortunately).

Sorry Darren, both "Abarth 850 TC e 1000 TC" and "Abarth catalogue 1949-1986" don't have pictures of the car.

Practice time for the car (No. 38) was 11'41.8 which meant 71th spot on the grid.

The car went out quite early according to the race reports. It is mentioned in
"Rennbericht Nr.2": (which gave the proceedings after the third lap)
".... Nr. 38 Ch. Gunther, England, (Fiat-Abarth) am Adenauer Forst mit Maschinenschaden ausgeschieden, ...

So the car had engine trouble during its 2nd or 3rd lap.
