Thanks, neat pics!!
The way I will always remember this car is from the movie, "Le Mans"!! The car just looks so brutally fast coming down the Mulsanne with it's body at least 5 inches closer to the track then the Gulf 917's!!

Klem, this was not only a great car. Some time ago I read an article defending that this has been the MOST SUCCESSFUL RACING CAR EVER !!!!


This obviously can be a matter of opinion, but no doubt that the racing records of the 917 in its different variants, is outstanding in races all over the planet. From Le Mans to endurance series in America, this car won every type of race in which participate. This was a giant car.
