Had to wake up after a 1-year silence for I really feel exactly the same as 1998 just before Melbourne - looks like we are off to an interesting season!!

My impressions of the '05 Testing Season (in no particular order) :

Mac: Seem to have recovered from the inevitable knock of building the International Space Station.
Juan & Kimi well matched. I'm looking forward to it.

Willy: Struggling a bit atm, but will inevitably get it going. Mark & Nick well matched. Hopefully they don't get blamed if the car doesn't perform.

Ferrari: It'll be interesting how the interim car stacks up agaisnt the opposition while they ready the uberwagen. Drivers status quo.

Renault: Looking pretty good, never underestimate the Flav. Fisi & Fred will be great fun to watch.

Bar: Should be a good car once again, but have one or two of the others caught them?

Toyota: Unclear atm, but their goal has to be to be the best of the rest. Jarno looks at home, Ralf well on his way. These two will be an interesting pairing, speedwise.

Sauber: Unclear atm, Massa should go pretty good again this year. Villeneuve is a total mystery.

Red Bull: Coulthard looks promising, hope they're not running light a la Prost & Arrows.

Jordan: It's really sad far this great team has fallen.

Minardi: Status Quo.

It'll be very interesting to see how the differing chassis will affect tire wear this year.

Anybody else? (One or two more long posts oughta do it)

Yeah, maybe we can talk about the F2005's development here until the thread hits 100 pages. :)

Just to keep it going.

Quick side bet. Which team do you think will be first to hit the tarmac in Oz?

My bet is Mac.

Maybe.

Will any of the top team drivers do more then 5 laps?

Its really difficult to call, but I think yes.

IMHO they need to do a minimum of 2 or 3 runs to be able to do any meaningful setup work, so thats a minimum of 9 laps.

If the drivers use the same setup then that could be shared, but if they use different settings then they may need to do more.

A very nice thread to read over the winter (well, most of the times!). A BIG thank you to everyone who posted links and translations from all over the world!

Thanks a lot!

A couple more lines to see if I can push it onto the 100th page! ;)
