First Question:

I have a low end machine with the following main especifications:

Asus P3b-f motherboard
Pentium III 650 Mhz
352 MB of RAM
Samsung 20 GB HD
Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
Sound Blaster Platinum
Windows 98 SE is the OS

But I´ve got a good 30 FPS rate in the lowest resolution with some graphic options disabled and still the game is very very playable. However I´ve heard that editing the file f1graphics.cfg I can tweak GP4 a little more.

Can you tell what lines in this file I can edit to cause a big impact on game FPS and processor occupancy?

Second Question:

I´ve installed a recent version of the GPXPATCH addon, but I can´t get no TV style standings, gaps, speed and laptime display. I´ve heard that it only works on hardware mode but how can I known if I running HW or SW mode?

Thanks in advance

Hi Chris.

Yes, you can improve your GP4 performance tweaking f1graphics.cfg. There are lots of options, and many of them can cause big trouble if wrong values are chosen.
Send me an email to goma@bblanca.com.ar and I'll send you my f1graphics.cfg file. It works really good, and many drivers from our League use it.

If you have trouble with GPxPatch, do this:

1) Install GP4 from scratch.
2) Install official 9.6 GP4 patch.
3) Replace GP4.exe with the Decrypted one.
4) Install GPxPatch 3.83 in the game folder.

You can find items 2 & 3 in our site: Sim-Racing.com.ar (Downloads section)

After installing everything, test the display again. If it doesn't work, ask me and we'll check your GPxPatch settings.

Good luck!

Quick question,

As there is a real Chris Amon out there and he is the subject of one of the longest threads on Atlas, how did you arrive with Chris_ Amon as your screen name? Are you a fan? Is Chris_Amon your real name?
