Tell me, haven't you already think once about how you would entitle your own Racing Team ? In fact I am a fan of Depailler and likes driver such as Giacomelli, I would call it

DepaMelli Racing Team

And you? ;)

If it required favorite drivers names it would be

Tamboreto Racing

Team Gillenoux

Motori DeAngelesi

or

Giacoiller Racing :p

When my wife moved to Geneve to take a job at the UN I toyed with the idea of starting a car club for employees and their spouses.
The name I came up with was the Untied Nations International Car Enthusiast's Federation. Something that would bring together people from all walks of life to celebrate their cars. I even envisioned all these little kids getting involved by raising money for us at UNICEF.
The idea was nixed and it's kind of a mystery why I'm divorced.
Oh well.

How about "Equipe Beefcake"?

I can't think of one for myself right now. Oh course, seeing as though I struggled for about a week to come up with a creative user name for myself, I'm not going to hold my breath.

ooo ooo ooo! I've thought of one. In honor of two of the first American drivers to participate in the Formula One World Championship, I present to you Team HarryWacker.

Hmmm.... OK, back to the drawing board then.

Saw one in an old Autosport the other day...Equipe Poulet Sans Tete...

Something like Mercia Racing would be good, in that it does not need translating and is (presumably) untrademarked in motor sport circles.

Sometimes the mind boggles.

Sometimes it just curls up and goes "euuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrgh". This is one of those moments.

I would call my team Auto Intercourse.

Owing to the technological level of my previous racing endeavors, and the low likelihood of any improvement, it would have to be

Team BIGGER HAMMER

or some awkward translation to French or Italian.

Of course, it could be time to revive Yorkshire FF2000 outfit Penistone Racing.;)

(Note to those who don't know Yorkshire - it's a small town whose name is pronounced "pennis-ton", not "penis tone". So stop giggling at the back. This means you.)

For some reason, this reminds me of an article in MN by Vern Schuppan in which he describes his appearance in (I think) the Macao Grand Prix. He said that one of the locals came up to him and said "hey, you grand prick?"

I actually had the Mexican international racing team (MIRT), drove two races in F Vee with it and nobody knew what MIRT meant. I used to spend time at school (1973 but raced in 1975) drawing the logos and there was a girl named Mirta who figured I was crazy about her since I would draw the logo in my tennis shoes and in my t shirts. And her boyfriend came to me and I explained. We laughed like crazy and later I discovered he was a distant cousin of mine.
So I actually ran my team and won both races in the rookie class both as 'Carlos Sanche', which is the name I keep as one of my pseudonyms to this date.
Well now I don´t have a team and I can´t even remember the logo, only it was in our red, green and white national colours.

I would probably, and in a very selfish way I must say, call it just panzani - after all this is my real name...
But it would quickly be renamed as panzani, as long as no current Team survives without this silly names after the JPS Lotus. [The 'newest' F1 Team is called just Red Bull Team! It looks like a rodeo Team, doesn't it?]
On the other hand the first chassis would be called Panzer001, I guess.

I am reminded of the late Oliver Reed, who once told a tale of how he and some friends bought a racehorse, which they wanted to simply call The 'orse. They thought it would be fun if commentators on televised races would come out with such gems as "The 'orse is coming down the straight......the 'orse is well in front of the other horses...." etc. Except the po-faced lot who run horse racing wouldn't allow it.

So I'd like to do something similar with my own racing team. The team would simply be called "The Team" and we would build our own car, the Car. Next thing would be to find a driver with the surname Driver. I wonder if Bernard de Dryver is still up for it?

Or Paddy Driver?

Or if you want to go oval racing in the US, Bruce Driver ran a couple of ASA races in '01.

Or if it is English clubbies you're interested in, what about Edwin Driver. He may be persuaded to give up his Triumph TR2, that he raced this year, for your car, the Car.
