Hard to beat Stand H in my opinion. Right at the braking zone for Turn 1, and if you sit high enough you can see essentially the whole of the first 6 or so corners. Stand J and the NW Vista are almost as good in terms of what you can see, just further away from the action.

Higher the better. Get at least a double letter row.

One tip I'll give you may seem risky, but in actuality it's not at all. Don't buy tickets before the race! You won't get good tickets ordering from the Speedway, as they've been taken early by returning buyers and the ticket brokers. Thyen, the various ticket brokers in Indy triple (or more) the price of the tickets. They also are fond of selling you one ticket, then after receiving payment, saying that the tickets were already sold by mistake, and shipping you crappy tickets with a small partial refund instead. It's how they dump their slow moving tickets. I made the mistake in once of buying my tickets from a broker, and won't play their game again.

Buy the Friday/Saturday pass at the Speedway ticket office on Friday, and walk around, sitting in different areas to see what you like. I actually prefer the NW vista to J. I also like to be up in the grandstands coming off of T13 during at least one practice session... the sound of the engines echoing around in the relatively empty grandstands is beyond description. Then sometime either Friday or Saturday go out on the street outside of the turn 1 area (Speedway turn 4), and you'll get prime tickets anywhere you want for face or less. There will be plenty of them, too.

I have been every year.

I started out with what I thought were the best seats in the house just by luck as I got them as permanent "season tickets". They were up in the grandstand across from the Ferrari pits. Didn't get much better than that for the innaugural race (even thought he weather sucked- esp. up there).

But, having had time to kick around every inch of the place, I would agree that Stand H as clos to the inside is the best seat in the house. Watching them come in braking for turn one off the Indy straight is as good as we Yanks will probably ever see here!

Only problem, is everyone now knows the stand H secret and prices have escalated for those seats!

You can sit anywhere you want on Fri. & Sat. I've been there every year & have only bought tix from scalpers & have always sat in H or J for less than the published price. I you wait until Sun. morning you can often find really cheap tix, buty the selection is more limited.

Hey Guys,
I am in Stand H, and never been to a grand prix. I got the highest I could but it was only an F row. Will I still be able to see a lot? Also what are the sections all about too? Thanks
