Ralf Schumacher has been accused of driving ‘like a woman’ – by his wife.

Cora Schumacher lifted the lid on her husband’s problems on the road – and with parking in particular.

Speaking on a German TV show, Cora said: “There have been a number of little accidents when it comes to getting into and out of parking spots.

“Ralf causes the sort of accidents you might expect from women drivers.”

Cora said that things had got even since worse Ralf traded in his BMW for a Toyota, which is not equipped with parking sensors.

She said: “Ralf was waiting for the beep to let him know how close he was to the car behind him — but we heard a different noise.”

And Jim Clark was afraid to cross railroad tracks back in the 60's; so what's new? :D He'd come to a stop before the crossing, with nothing in view for miles around, and still ask his passenger "you think it's safe now?"

Ralf has it quite easy. :)
Imagine if this had been about JPM or Kimi - we'd see about 20 pages of insults and vitriol from the tifosi by now...

don't take things so seriously Ross, I am usually a defender of Ralf's.....but that ITV story is funny, and its even funnier that the source is his wife!

Has Ralf got a driving license? Do they have to do parking as part of their test in Germany?? We already knew he was bad at parking, look where he stopped when he dropped out of the Chinese GP!!

Ralf can't park.

As long as Cora doesn't say that she wishes Ralf drives his own hardware like a woman....or was she?

I can picture her bellowing something in guttural tones like "you call that faster ? I'll break yer back sonny!"

...um, sorry dosed off there. What was the question?

I thought you are one of strongest Schumacher bashers. So why can you as strongest JPM's fan not forgive some Tifosi to do the same toward JPM or KR as you toward MS?

Without the name Ralf would just be a bad road car driver. Ralf's fame and fortune are a result of sharing the same last name as the 7 time champ. He has never been screwed over because of his name, quite the contrary actually. Everything he has (like an F1 career) is 100% thanks to the name.

This must be why Ralf rolls over for big Bro on the track, Ralf must feel he somehow owes MS so he lets him pass or does not attempt to pass.

This applies to his last few years. Early on with Jordan and esp. that '99 season, he earned most of his accolades. Since mid '02 onwards he's been getting by on his reputation.

"Without the name Ralf would just be a bad road car driver."

I would very much like to see how all the other "bad road car drivers" would do in the wheel of F1 car.

"Ralf's fame and fortune are a result of sharing the same last name as the 7 time champ. He has never been screwed over because of his name, quite the contrary actually. Everything he has (like an F1 career) is 100% thanks to the name."

I would estimate 99% - the remaining 1% consisting of his race wins, matching Fisichella, crushing Zanardi, beating Button, giving JPM a good challenge and all the other meaningless stuff he has accomplished.

"This must be why Ralf rolls over for big Bro on the track, Ralf must feel he somehow owes MS so he lets him pass or does not attempt to pass."

Its just another excuse to knock him, its so sad it makes me cringe that people just cannot get out of the playground. Image have millions of money in your bank and driving all sorts of different cars without a care about looking after it because you've worked all your life for it, also having a previous car that had parking control bleeps, the rules of the road and tivial things like parking have got nothing whatsoever to do with driving an F1 car.
I'm sure if he really cared about it he could do it better than anyone one of these idiots that knock him.

So you figure if he was Ralf Smith son of Bob and Sandy Smith and without big bro standing in his way, Ralfie would be multi time WDC by now?? :rotfl:

Winning the WDC over his Bro would go a long way to proving he has the goods. heck putting in a whole season without losing the plot would be a good place to start for weepy wittle wralfie.

During the Brazilian GP this year the announcer of Bandeirantes FM (radio station covering the GP) told that when he was driving into parking lot someone bumped his car from behind. He looks back and it is Ralf Schumacher in his car. Since it was a very small bump it was nothing to worry about and the two went their separate ways. Of course all other reporters in the broadcast made this the joke of the day, asking him if Ralf had apologized, did Ralf pay for the damage, was he nice, etc, etc, etc. It was fun, like "now coming to the pits Ralf Schumacher, who bumped into my car yesterday..."

Bet big bro parks in a very clean and tidy style, even managing to slip into spots he has no business trying for, all without getting anywhere close to hitting anything (unless Damon or Jacques are parked in the next spots;)), in the mean time Ralf circles the block looking for the Toyota company parking lot.

The precedent was set long ago, Mike used to nip the strudel from Ralf's school lunch when they where younger kids. "I will stop twisting your nipple if you give me your strudel"

There is a good side and there is a bad side being married to a woman like his , let's say, "happy" wife.

The sex should be very good but there are some inconvenient behavior sometimes.

"So you figure if he was Ralf Smith son of Bob and Sandy Smith and without big bro standing in his way, Ralfie would be multi time WDC by now??"

What the hell you are talking about? Are you suggesting anyone who isn´t "multi time WDC" doesn´t deserve his place in F1? Maybe you should try to guess how many of the current drivers qualify according to this criteria.

"Winning the WDC over his Bro would go a long way to proving he has the goods."

And how many times his teammates have managed to do this? As far as I know Fisichella, Zanardi, Button, JPM haven´t managed to beat his big brother either and yet I cannot see you claiming they don´t deserve to be in F1.

Because Fisichella, Zanardi, Button & JPM do not have big brothers that got them into F1.

Please if you would be so kind as to answer this question.

If he was Ralf Smith son of Bob and Sandy Smith without big bro lending his name and fame would Ralf be in F1?

No big deal, really.
Racing an F1 car has nothing to do with parking a passenger car.
It is like being a gynecologist. It does not warrant that you are always good when dealing with women's private parts. (Please excuse the euphemistic wording....)

GO JPM GO!!!!!!!!!!!

"Because Fisichella, Zanardi, Button & JPM do not have big brothers that got them into F1."

Now I´m confused.

Fisichella, Zanardi, Button & JPM havent´t beaten MS for WDC because they do not have big brother that got them to F1?

Excuse me?

"Please if you would be so kind as to answer this question.

That is not the same question you asked before. You were arguing he sucks because he isn´t "multi time WDC". My opinion - there is no way to be sure. It´s all hypothetical anyway. But I do think he is better than many of the others who got there "without" famous big brother, so why not?

I thought that Ralf got into F1 because he was very quick in Japan in '96 winning the F3 (or F3000) title. He cuold also be quite erratic. Certainly having a big brother that was (then) a two-time WDC didn't hurt. I'm sure having a famous relative will not hurt young Piquet and Rosberg.

Ralf was impressive when he started, and he didn't cut his bro any slack on the few occasions they were on the track together. In fact more than once, IIRC, Ralf ran into Michael. Which, depending on your point of view, may say it all about Ralf.

If Ralf didnt deserve to be in F1, he wouldnt have lasted this long. And then also Fisi and Button wouldnt deserve to be in F1 either.
Ralf has proven he is one of the quickest guys. I think he superrior to Fisi, he destroyed Zanardi, he beat Button, and has the speed to come close to Montoya on a couple of ocassions.
He thought there is no shame in being beaten by Montoya Ralf admitted once.
Jordan even said, on pure speed over one lap he thought was quicker then Michael.

I predict that he will beat Trulli. And Jarno is a bloody quick driver as we have seen.

I do find it funny that he struggles with parking a road car.
Ralf has always had **** perception of his surroundings. I'm sure Alonso and Montoya would agree with this.

Would Ralf get half the flak he does if his second name wasn't Schumacher? Having said that, if he's such an incompetent street driver that he can't parallel-park his car, then he has absolutely no business driving on the street. The way Cora describes it might sound funny, endearing and all that; but he's a danger and he shouldn't have a license in the first place. Get a chauffeur, ffs!

Not a road car, but in the interest of fairness, Ralf did perhaps the best bit of parking I have ever seen @ Spa 98. A lot of people behind him chose to have pointless car-wrecking accidents instead.
