Hey guys. I just got a momo force (the old red and black one) from ebay, and it isn't functioning properly. I figured I'd come here for some racing wheel help! THe LED's aren't lit up, and when I use it (F1c & GTR demo) there isn't force feedback, except when i move the wheel rapidly from side to side. The LED's light up when I do so, and there is some resistance while I do that, but besides that, the wheel is loose and the LED's are off. Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

this is just a guess...and probably no real help.

but it sounds like a power supply issue.
the lights come on when the wheel is powered up (obviously) and the wheel gets 'stiff' when the lights are on... when the power is off its 'loose'

ive got the OTHER momo force feedback wheel...USB. SOMETIMES, maybe once in 15 times, if i plug my wheel in while the PC is already booted up it doesnt take...the lights done come on, the wheel doesnt stiffen up....basically its like its not plugged in. for whatever reason i need to reboot with the wheel alrteady plugged in...then it works fine.

now...wheather this is a problem with these wheels in general.... or some kind of USB/power supply issue on my PC (which i doubt), i dont know.

but maybe its a similar kind of thing

i havent used my MOMO in ages and pulled it out o the cupboard a few weeks ago. I plugged it in and for the life of me couldnt get the LED's to light up, there was just no power going to it at all. Then i realised i had been using the wrong DC adaptor, and when i found the right logitech one it still wouldnt work. I thought that by using the wrong DC adaptor ive somehow fried the wheel. It still works without Force Feedback though. So is it liekly that i could have fried the thing by using the wrong adaptor or could it be similar to the above problems?

P.S. I havent tried plugging in the wheel and booting with it plugged in. I will give that a shot.

I had a similar problem with my thrustmaster wheel suddenly cutting out mid race.

I found the USB properties by right clicking My Computer, then go to properties > hardware > device manager then went into the properties of each usb hub and to power management tab and turn off the option for the pc to save power by turning off the device.... has worked fine since then.
