just a quick query here, does anyone know of ANY cars that are still around here in the UK that were driven by Tom Pryce? I'm interested in anything from F1 Shadows to F2, F3 or even FFords. Thank you!

Well I think the F1 Shadows all have pretty well documented histories. I seem to remember that his Super Vee car was up for sale in Autosport a while back. You might argue that the most historically significant car was his Monaco-winning March 743, but I have no idea where that went to.

Dont forget the Chequered Flag Stratos. I have a nasty idea that the car destroyed by fire on the 1977 Welsh was the car that TP had previously used on the Tour of Epynt.

Hmmm..... Last time I saw the Monaco March, it was in the back of the Ippokampos transporter in Walton. I actually owned the Monaco nose from the March 743 (complete with air intake mod for extra cooling), but I certainly haven't got it now, and I don't know where it went. As far as I know, Tony Vlassopoulo is still in the Weybridge area (although I don't recall seeing his TV 8 numberplate for a while), and he may know of the March's fate. Another significant car in Tom's career is the Royale RP11 F3 car, in which he began to make his name. Neil Trundle may be able to help with details of the Rondel Motul F2 and F Atlantic cars, and of course there's the Token..... now where's that got to?

John Ravenscroft (or was it Jim) sprinted the Token very successfully in 1976, perhaps later too. I don't recall after this, Steve W ???

Slightly OT but same generation, same undiluted brilliance and same heartbreaking sense of loss....Tony Brise Elden FF is up for sale in Autosport this week.

The Atlantic Motul M1 pedalled by Chris Meek and Tom Pryce - on a seemingly ad hoc basis - on a glorious July day at Oulton Park in 1973. Note the F2 works Motul transporter...Tom was also racing in F2 for Motul Rondel Racing at this time of course...

The Token F1 is in Belgium with Christian Van Hee - you could probably get to Brussels quicker than some parts of the UK!

Correct Dan it was John Ravenscroft. I believe the engine/gearbox were removed prior to its sale.

I remember the car losing an argument with the barriers along the quarry wall at Longridge during a Sprint meeting ( I think in early 1976  )

Kind regards

Not in the UK, but the 1976 Shadow DN5/5B is owned by Ron Dykes of Port Angeles, Washington.

The late Pete Kerr told me - very movingly - how he and his wife disposed of the chassis in which Tom actually died, Pete physically cutting it up.

Hello,

Enjoy the Atlas nostalgia forum, first time actually writing in. I own the Chevron B27 F2 car that Tom Pryce drove for Baty and Team Chevron in the 1974 F2 season. I have owned the car for many years and it is a pleasure to drive. I have always been a big Tom Pryce fan and feel fortunate to own a small piece of his history. I would be happy to post a photo if anyone is interested. Keep up the good work :)

I'm not sure if this is the correct way to post photos, but here goes.. These photos were taken at Sears Point and Laguna Seca.

Jack

How about his road cars ?

The only one I know of is the blue MGB GT that his mother bought him when the Nursing Home began to do well. Did he have a "company car" when he was with Shadow ?

I'm sure a in a previous thread (which I can't find now) someone mentioned Tom driving away from a Shadow test at Silverstone in '74 in an Opel Rekord.
