A work colleague of mine remembers being at Silverstone in 1969 or 1970 on weekday test day. He went there with his father and met up with a friend of theirs who was running 'an ex-Graham Hill single seater'. It was done up in tiger stripes livery, ORANGE WITH BLACK STRIPES. My friend remembers it as being ex-Graham Hill, but can't remember what it exactly was. The driver and owners' name was George Winberg (sp??). Does anyone remember this car at all???? We're not sure if it was a Formula 1, formula 2 car or whatever.

Graham Hill car question - tiger stripes??

I don't know its subsequent history, but Graham's 1972 F2 Brabham BT38 was sponsored by Jaegermeister and was most definitely orange. Not sure about the black, but it wasn't tiger-striped.

Wonder if this had anything to do with the Esso "tiger in your tank" ad campaigns in the UK in the '60's - IIRC there were some print ads with a race car but I have to admit I don't recall the car being painted in tiger stripes....
