I first posted this in Readers Comments and it got zero response. Then I came here and posted it in Nick's topic 'Who owns Atlas F1?', only Brent noticed.
So here I go again, namely:
How about writing a column on the main page telling us all about the who/what/where/why of AtlasF1. I'd really like to know what kind of satisfaction one gets out of running a F1 board, it can't just be the money
I've only been a member about a month and I'd like to know alot more about this place.
All the best FP

I can't give you the history and A-Z of Atlas F1, simply because I wasn't here when it started. When I first logged on in either late 97 or early 98, it was already a thriving and popular site with a very active BB, articles news and so on.
For a long time, I was just an ordinary member and user primarily of the BB. I don't have a great number of F1 fanatic friends, and I really appreciated the service provided by Paul, Bira and their team. In an age where 'you get what you pay for', I thought it was fantastic to cruise the Net and get the choice of so many great sites and such a wealth of free information and services.
When Bira asked me to help out on the BB as an administrator, I was more than happy for the chance to give something back to the Atlas F1 community. As you say, it's not about the money. I like the people here (Atlas F1 staff and members), I enjoy their 'company', and it's only a pleasure to help out where I can. Sometimes it's long and hard work and it does have its low moments, but overall the enjoyment far outweighs the odd downer.
I can't speak for the other staff, but I think the common thread would be that we all enjoy giving something back, in whatever way, to the sport we love.

Q1: Am I nosey in asking where are you guys are located? I assumed it must in England?
Q2: What was the results of the survey that Atlas F1 put up some months ago? Are there any results/stats? Was there some sort of prize for this?
Thanks in advance.

1. I coudlnt tell. They are all over the globe, but the owner, Kaizar.Com, I think is in America.
2. The results are a secret.

Dan the Man, I believe the Atlas F1 server is located in America, but the staff are spread around the globe. It's just as well, too. If we all worked in one physical office, there's no telling what we'd get up to.

OK, I will try to put something together for you and others who might be interested in the background of AF1.
Regarding the question of location from Dan the Man, Rich is right in that our content and the management thereof really does not have a central location, hence "ATLAS" F1 . If you had to pin a central location of content management, it would not be where so much as in who... and that would be Biranit. Given her location at the time such as California, Israel or England, that's where the action is.
As far as business administration and the handling of all the background "stuff" in maintaining Atlas, that all happens in California and Arizona... including hosting.
Does that explain a little? I'll try to be more explanatory in the future via an article or something. The fact is, I did not think anyone would be interested.
Best regards,
Paul

But, I'm probally not worthy.
But really Admins, the company background would be interesting. Some of the other sources I use for racing news (which cannot hold a candle to you guys) will tell you who they are or plug their magazines. These web sites also have sections for pontifical news items. That is boring . Since I use my info I obtain form "Atlas F1" with friends, it's always helps do know who "Atlas F1" is.
Paul, please more information in the future ( or any other admin could add their knowledge). Thanks.

-how it started
-who is involved
-how you get to be an admin
-full colour pictorial on PitBabe, Bira and Sally!
-and most important, what do you see for the future.
Sorry to go on and on but I am sure that people ARE INTERESTED.
Lets do the math, I like it, so do about 9 others. As posters only represent about .5% of your readers lets multiply the 10 by 200 and then again by another 10 just to be sure that we have adjusted for the world time zones. How can you say no to 20,000 interested readers?
For anyone who is interested this is the same formula that Bernie uses to calculate the number of TV viewers.
got to go, I'm at work.
